Job description

An excellent school in the Dallas, PA (Monroe Township) area has a School Nurse LPN position opening for the upcoming school year.

Monday - Friday, estimated 37.5hours/week. (based on school district's calendar)

This is a 1:1 position involves providing nursing services for a medically-fragile (multiple disabilities) student in the district. This position requires riding the bus with the student from Monroe Township (Dallas) to Kingston and back each day. Transportation time is paid.

Other Key Responsibilities of the School Nurse (LPN):

  • Provide 1:1 nursing services during the school day
  • Provides First aid treatment for students and staff.
  • Trains school personnel on First Aid, CPR, and the use of the AED.
  • Dispenses medication.
  • Manages electronic and paper health records.
  • Assumes responsibility for the referral of students in need of medical care
  • Implements DoH (Department of Health) policies and protocols.

Key Requirements of the School Nurse (LPN):

  • Valid or eligible to receive PA Nursing license
  • First Aid and CPR certified (Instructor certification preferred)
  • Must have good organizational skills coupled with good interpersonal skills, show strong attention to detail, be eager to learn new skills, have excellent oral and written communication skills, and demonstrate proficiency with computers. Successful candidates must also be compassionate, have ability to prioritize and multitask, and be able to maintain strict confidentiality of information.
