Do you bring hands-on experience in project coordination, resource scheduling, and supporting contract management across a wide range of capital construction programs-from minor upgrades to major infrastructure developments?

If this sounds like you, we invite you to consider joining our team as a Project Management Team Leader, where your leadership, technical expertise, and collaborative approach will help shape the success of our infrastructure projects.

SUMMARY

The Team Leader, Project Management, oversees the delivery of infrastructure and environmental projects. The incumbent coordinates work and conducts quality assuranceactivities for the team to produce project deliverables (e.g. development plans, statementsof work), and undertakes research, studies and assessments to provide advice to the Client-Partners. The incumbent leads a team of professionals and manages the human resources responsibilities for the team. The incumbent also manages the Client-Partnerrelationship. The incumbent develops creative solutions and ensures the team is focused oncollaboration and the quality and timeliness of deliverables.

KEY AND PERIODICACTIVITIES
The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative but not all-inclusive:
Primary

  • Lead the research, and prepare and present documents required for long-term projects (e.g. approvals, statements of work, statement of operational requirements, projects
    charters, budgets, policies and procedures)
  • Coordinate work with Client-Partner representatives
  • Participate in DCC corporate initiatives
  • Generate infrastructure statements of operational requirements, prepare business casesand conduct investigations, as required
  • Participate in procurement planning
  • Coordinate activities of consultants
  • Prepare monthly reports (e.g. internal, Client-Partner)
  • Monitor and control project schedule and costs
  • Manage and coordinate service line integration and collaboration within the business unit
  • Promote and manage business development opportunities
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships within DCC, and with industry, theClient-Partners and/or stakeholders
  • Ensure quality standards are met, in line with corporate and Client-Partner expectations
  • Manage risk
  • Perform human resource functions (e.g. coach, supervise, mentor, plan and allocateresources, and manage performance)

  • Assist in the development of service level arrangements

SKILLS

General and Specific Knowledge

Formal Education and/or Certification(s) and Experience

Cold Lake
The City of Cold Lake is located in Alberta's Lakeland and nestled on the shore of Alberta's seventh largest lake. The area is known for its many pristine lakes and forests which offer excellent camping, fishing, water sports, and many other recreational activities. Cold Lake also has modern recreation and sport facilities, a nearby alpine ski hill, as well as urban and rural trail systems. Defence Construction Canada (DCC) Cold Lake is located at 4 Wing which is an air force base operated by the Royal Canadian Air Force and home to Western Canada's fighter jets. The Cold Lake air base is known as Canada's busiest fighter base and the 1.17-million-hectare Cold Lake Air Weapons Range provides opportunity for Canadian and International Air Force training. Working at DCC Cold Lake offers opportunities to support in planning, construction, and maintenance of the infrastructure for the airfield runways, ramp, and hangars as well as other supporting facilities and utilities at both the base and the nearby air weapons range.
