What you bring

As a Coordinator, Construction Services at Defence Construction Canada (DCC), you will bring a wealth of expertise and skills that are instrumental to our success.

You are a good fit if you have experience with:

  • Design & Implementation of Electrical Distribution systems including High Voltage;
  • Managing and administering contracts to ensure work done under them complies with contractual requirements and quality specifications in a construction setting;
  • Coordinate and solve day-to-day contractual constraints;
  • Managing contract risk,
  • Review and Monitor schedules.
  • Liaising with Client-Partner representatives (e.g. on project-related issues, negotiate and prepare change orders for approval);
  • Maintaining site activity records (e.g. photos, activity reports); and

Have the following formal Education and/or Certification(s) experience and abilities:

  • Minimum: college diploma in engineering, applied science or related field with five years' relevant experience, or the equivalent
  • Preferred: certification in applicable field (e.g. Certified Engineering Technologist)

Abilities

  • Use applicable computer software and operating systems;
  • Interpret drawings and specifications;
  • Apply project, contract, and risk management techniques to construction; and,
  • Demonstrate leadership and human resources management skills.

What you will do:

With your background in the management of construction, project coordination, and risk management, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of the following projects:

Eastern Ontario Campus (EOC).

The aim of this project is to implement purpose-built infrastructure and buildings within an existing DND base including two green field sites while ensuring that the Unit operations continue unimpeded by construction activities.
This is a very large project, located just West of Richmond, ON, that is being implemented over the next 10-years that will require site preparation and construction of approx. 100,000 m2 of new buildings and civil infrastructure (i.e. underground utilities, roads, water treatment, wastewater treatment and central electrical plants, etc.).
