We're looking for a Coordinator, Construction Services who thrives in a fast-paced environment, someone skilled in contract administration, communication, and risk management-ready to support infrastructure projects for our Client-Partner. By becoming a DCC team member, you will have the opportunity to deliver infrastructure solutions that support Canada's troops and the defence of the country.

The Coordinator, Construction Services, manages and administers low-complexity construction, professional services and service contracts to ensure compliance with contract requirements. The incumbent may provide support under the functional direction of a contract coordinator on higher complexity contracts. The incumbent engages in daily discussions and negotiations with contractors and the Client-Partners about quality of work, interpretation of contract documents, scope changes, progress claim reviews and other issues. The incumbent addresses contract management risks within delegated authority and complies with service line requirements.

KEY AND PERIODIC ACTIVITIES
The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative but not all-inclusive:
Primary

• Manage and administer contracts to ensure compliance with contractual requirements
• Coordinate and solve day-to-day contractual problems
• Monitor and control schedules
• Liaise with Client-Partner representatives (e.g. on contract-related problems and risks)
• Maintain site activity records (e.g. photos, activity reports), as required
• Assess, negotiate and issue contract change orders
• Develop and maintain effective relationships within DCC, and with industry, the Client-Partners and/or stakeholders
• Ensure quality standards are met, in line with corporate and Client-Partner expectations

Other

• Ensure health and safety, industrial security and environmental compliance
• Carry out financial control for contracts
• Coordinate consultant construction review and third-party testing
• Manage contract risk
• Other duties as assigned

Formal Education and/or Certification(s) and Experience

• Minimum: college diploma in engineering, applied science or related field with approximately two years' relevant experience, or the equivalent

Abilities

• Use applicable computer software and operating systems
• Interpret drawings and specifications
• Apply project, contract and risk management techniques to construction and consultant contracts

DEVELOPMENT AND LEADERSHIP

• Provide functional advice and guidance to employees and to Client-Partners

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Typical construction site environment; incumbent is required to wear basic safety equipment
• Some work may be in a typical office environment with occasional travel

Cold Lake
The City of Cold Lake is located in Alberta's Lakeland and nestled on the shore of Alberta's seventh largest lake. Cold Lake also has modern recreation and sport facilities, a nearby alpine ski hill, as well as urban and rural trail systems. Defence Construction Canada (DCC) Cold Lake is located at 4 Wing which is an air force base operated by the Royal Canadian Air Force and home to Western Canada's fighter jets. The Cold Lake air base is known as Canada's busiest fighter base and the 1.17-million-hectare Cold Lake Air Weapons Range provides opportunity for Canadian and International Air Force training. Working at DCC Cold Lake offers opportunities to support in planning, construction, and maintenance of the infrastructure for the airfield runways, ramp, and hangars as well as other supporting facilities and utilities at both the base and the nearby air weapons range.
