Job description

Position Overview Assistant Principal – Carolus Online Academy (COA), a Stride K12 partner school. Requires a South Carolina Principal Certification and residency in South Carolina. The role requires time in-office at least twice per week in Columbia, SC. Essential Functions Ensures conformance of educational programs to state and local school board standards through evaluation, development, and coordination activities. Researches and implements non‐K12 curriculum resources that meet state standards. Articulates the school's mission and vision to ensure all stakeholders share a common understanding and work cooperatively toward desired results. Utilizes communication technologies that most effectively support a predominantly virtual/remote work environment. Ensures the school meets the needs of students while complying with local, state, and federal laws regarding special education and other categorical programs (TitleI, LAP, CTE). Interfaces with students, families, local Municipal Court systems, and local districts regarding student attendance and engagement as defined by school policy and handbook expectations. Develops and oversees implementation of the school's Student Achievement Improvement Plan. Supervises and evaluates teaching staff; manages teacher performance, providing training for professional development. Manages Master and Lead Teachers and their programs; confers with teachers, students, and parents concerning educational and behavioral issues. Coordinates with teacher and K12 enrollment regarding expulsions and withdrawals. Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises 15‐30 Full‐time Equivalent (FTE) full‐time employees and/or contractors. Conducts hiring, training, performance appraisal, rewards, discipline, complaint resolution, and problem solving in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws. Minimum Required Qualifications Previous supervisory experience. Master's degree. Five (5) years of educational experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to clear required background check. Other Required Qualifications Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.). Web proficiency. Ability to travel 20% of the time for meetings, professional development, etc. Desired Qualifications Previous experience as an online educator. Previous administrative experience. Compensation & Benefits Stride, Inc. offers a salary range of $53,697.00 – $67,121.00, based on education, experience, location, and other factors. Eligible employees may receive a bonus. Benefits include health coverage, retirement contributions, and paid time off.
