Job description

What We Need

Corpay is currently looking to hire a Negotiations Manager within our Customer Service division. This position falls under our Lodging line of business and is located in Wichita, Kansas. In this role, is responsible for managing the activities of the Negotiations Team. This includes the assignment of appropriate resources to ensure 100% completion for assigned tasks in the group. The Negotiations Manager designs, implements, and manages the Core Network (generic) hotel network negotiations strategy, aligning with Corpay Lodging senior leadership to ensure optimal customer savings and limits on rate cost growth. The Negotiations Manager should possess a strong understanding of company and management values and ensure company standards and policies are met. The Negotiations Manager should work ethically, truthfully, honestly, and respectfully with all co-workers. The Negotiations Manager should set a leadership example by providing excellent customer service internally and externally, handling escalated client and/or hotel inquiries, and being dedicated to providing partners and clients with dynamic communication and service. The primary focus of the Negotiations Manager will be to manage a team of Contract Negotiators tasked with addressing contracted hotel savings goals for the Corpay Lodging Hotel Network. The Negotiations Manager will play a proactive role in achieving the goals of the team and lead the team to excellent results.  You will report directly to the VP of Hotel Network and regularly collaborate with the team and other departments.

As a Manager, you will be expected to work in an office environment. Corpay will set you up for success by providing:

Role Responsibilities

 The responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Driving sustained customer savings by limiting rate cost increases and enacting rate cost decreases to optimize the mix of ideal rate savings and network coverage.
  • Scheduling, allocating workloads, training, counseling, establishing goals and benchmarks, and monitoring progress versus established goals.
  • Building rapport with hotel chain contacts throughout management and franchise companies. Act as a hotel chain partner liaison in regard to hotel negotiations and contracting.
  • Internal reporting, ensuring predetermined goals and deadlines are met.
  • Providing input on each team member’s progress for the purpose of performance evaluations. Regularly meet with the individual team members to focus on and improve performance at the individual and team levels.
  • Keeping management informed and involved in planned strategies.
  • Utilizing company technology tools such as Rapid Canvas and Tableau to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of the team and its individual members.
  • Responding to internal customer lodging inquiries from the CFG’s needs and strategizing accordingly.
  • Verifying rates and contract terms in hotel contracts for accuracy prior to signing and executing the Generic contract.
  • Responsible for getting contracts back signed and updated in Talon (Lodgedesk).
  • Handling and working to resolve “escalated” rate negotiation discussions.
  • Working effectively with the team and creating a friendly working environment.
  • Ensuring staff are trained on Corpay Lodging Policies and Procedures.
  • Working with a positive attitude and enthusiasm.
  • Showing a strong desire to work towards completed goals.
  • Ensuring duties are covered in scheduled and unscheduled absences.
  • Performing other duties, as assigned.

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • The ideal candidate will possess a demonstrated, strategic approach to revenue, pricing, and cost management.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Minimum three years of supervisory and/or management experience in a business environment preferred.
  • College degree or equivalent experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong self-motivation. A proactive self-starter.
  • Must have Microsoft Word and Excel skills (Google Docs/Sheets skills a plus).
  • Strong ability to multitask.  
  • The need to be focused, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment. 

 

Performance Standards

  • Achieve Hotel Network savings and coverage goals, monthly and annually.
  • Complete project assignments as designated by the senior management team.
  • Adhere to all Corpay Procedures and Processes
  • Ensure Hotel Network is meeting the client’s needs and handling all issues in a timely manner. 
  • Adhere to the schedule and Corpay attendance policy.
  • Manage time on and off the phone to provide real-time availability.
