Job Summary and Responsibilities

In keeping with the Dignity Health core values a CLS III (Section Head) plans coordinates and directs activities for responsible section (Chemistry Microbiology etc) and directs the implementation of new procedures. Also provides technical assistance and training of laboratory personnel.

This position is represented by SEIU UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Job Requirements
  • Three (3) years clinical laboratory experience as a Clinical Lab Scientist
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in section of specialty
  • California Medical Technologist license (LIC CLS)

Special Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of principles procedures and techniques of clinical laboratory analysis especially in section of responsibility.
  • Knowledge of laboratory regulatory requirements (CAP CLIA Joint Commission).
  • Excellent communication skill both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to be an effective team member and work with many publics across all departments.
  • Ability to understand and utilize adult principles of learning.
  •  Ability to direct and provide leadership to others.
