General Summary
Odessa College, a leading community college in the nation for student success outcomes, has openings for Construction Management Adjunct Instructor, capable of teaching one or a variety of courses of the following degree programs:
โ€ข Construction Management AAS
โ€ข Construction Management BAAS
โ€ข Construction Management Certification Level I
โ€ข Construction Management Certification Level II
In addition to the more common topics associated with the degree programs, experience in construction; surveying; construction finance; construction law; and virtual design & construction will be considered.
Specific Position Duties
  • Teach assigned courses in the curriculum;
  • Maintains up to date knowledge in the teaching field;
  • Utilize appropriately challenging coursework to help students realize their full potential as learners;
  • Provide students with written expectations in such matters as syllabi, policies, assignment instructions, graded evaluations, etc.;
  • Administers tests which are appropriate to course content, including a comprehensive final exam measuring overall grasp of course objectives;
  • By ways and means of instructing students, affirms worth and dignity of all persons and the right of all persons to learn;
  • Prepare adequately for class and devote appropriate time to classroom activities;
  • Deliver material in a clear understandable manner;
  • Addresses student concerns (e.g. - comments, questions, and input, both in class and via posted student support hours, timely electronic communication, and other suitable means);
  • Timely communication with students;
  • Timely submission of grades;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in the teaching discipline (e.g.- Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Construction Technology, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering) OR
Associate Degree AND relevant technical training, certification, or experience in the discipline and demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline.
