Job description

Virtual Tech Assistant / Part-Time - Remote

Why You Should Choose Steno
At Steno, we're growing fast and transforming the litigation technology industry with cutting-edge technology, unique products, and an exceptional client experience. Founded in 2018, we're revolutionizing how legal professionals work - and our Video Specialists (Virtual Tech Assistants) are at the heart of delivering the white-glove service our clients rave about.
  • Wins together - Stock options included. When Steno grows, you grow.
  • Constantly innovates with technology at our core - We are a modern organization solving real problems in an industry that needs a revolutionary approach.
  • Healthcare support - Your health is always a priority. We offer a monthly reimbursement to help offset the costs of covered healthcare insurance premiums.
  • Wellness & Mental Health - Shared benefits available to all employees to be used among them and their households.
  • Competitive Pay ($20-$23/hr) - Hourly compensation with real growth potential as you make your mark on a fast-growing team.
  • Meaningful perks - A work-supplied computer, a monthly stipend to cover internet costs, access to a company-provided 401k, and paid sick time.

Why a Virtual Tech Assistant here is different:
  • You're on camera and in the room - Our Video Specialists provide live, face-to-face technical, video, and audio support during real depositions using our Steno Connect platform. This isn't background IT work - you're the person clients rely on to troubleshoot in real time when it matters most.
  • A team unlike any other - Meet the "Vid-Squad" - a diverse group from all different backgrounds, united by a drive to deliver exceptional service. Senior teammates help keep the ship running smoothly.
  • Comprehensive training from day one - You'll receive on-the-job training on the deposition process and Steno's unique service workflows - no legal background required. We set you up to succeed.
  • Hospitality meets cutting-edge tech - You'll operate Zoom and Steno Connect with a white-glove, concierge mindset, ensuring every client has what they need before, during, and after every deposition. If you're not comfortable commanding a (virtual) room, this job is not for you.

You'll crush it here if you have 2+ years of customer service experience, 1+ years of Zoom/video conferencing experience (Zoom proficiency is tested during interviews), thrive in fast-paced environments, are highly detail-oriented, and have a minimum of 20 hours of Monday-Friday availability between 9 am-5 pm PST. At least 6 months of remote work experience required. Legal or startup experience is a bonus!
