Job Summary

- Accurately assign codes for outpatient surgical procedures.
- Perform coding audits to identify missed revenue and compliance risks.
- Provide virtual coding education to physicians and practice managers.
- Review clinical documentation and payer policies for reimbursement.
- Conduct research on coding and billing issues and recommend improvements.
- Develop educational materials for providers and junior coders.
- Stay current with coding guidelines and regulations.
- Collaborate with physicians to resolve coding-related discrepancies.
- Support department restructuring and assist in onboarding new coders.
Qualifications
- EPIC experience.
- 2-5 years of PB coding experience, ideally in gastroenterology or general surgery.
- At least 1 year of experience with GI surgeries.
- Proficient in CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM coding.
- CPC, COC, or equivalent certification preferred.
- MUST HAVE PB EXPERIENCE not just outpatient.
Experience
- 2-5 years in PB coding experience, ideally in gastroenterology or general surgery.
- At least 1 year of experience with GI surgeries.
Skills
- Proficient in Epic software.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to develop educational materials and mentor junior staff.
