Opportunity:


Virtual Service Operations is searching for a Senior Consultant with deep expertise in OpenShift Virtualization to support a bare-metal, on-premises OpenShift Virtualization deployment. This is a hands-on, technically demanding engagement requiring strong command of OpenShift core infrastructure, virtualization, networking, and storage in an on-prem context.


Responsibilities:

  • The consultant will be responsible for designing, deploying, and supporting an on-premises OpenShift Virtualization environment, including core infrastructure configuration, bare-metal provisioning, virtual machine and container workload management, networking architecture, storage integration, authentication/RBAC setup, and ongoing lifecycle and operational support.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Core Infrastructure - OpenShift core infrastructure: DNS, NTP, networking, and storage Bare-metal installation, including Redfish and Virtual Media Hybrid Cloud Console, Agent-based Installer, and Assisted Installer
  • Virtualization - OpenShift Virtualization (OpenShift Virt), including Migration Toolkit for Virtualization (MTV) VM and container workload lifecycle management
  • Networking - Deep, comprehensive understanding of OpenShift networking, including required port configurations OpenShift Virt networking: OVS bridges, Linux bridges, and VLAN management, Storage networking, including iSCSI
  • Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Virtualization

Platform Operations

  • GitOps and Helm
  • Authentication and RBAC, including Okta integration and OpenShift RBAC
  • OpenShift Operator management
  • Observability: logging, metrics, and alerting
  • OpenShift lifecycle management, including updates and upgrades


Requirements:
  • 7 - 9 years of professional experience
  • Must be willing to work remotely
