Job description

The BIM Coordinator (Electrical) is responsible for developing, coordinating, and managing electrical Building Information Models (BIM) across projects. This role ensures accurate integration of electrical systems within multidisciplinary models and supports efficient project delivery through clash detection, coordination, and adherence to BIM standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed electrical BIM models using Revit and related software
  • Coordinate electrical systems with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines
  • Perform clash detection using Navisworks and resolve coordination conflicts
  • Review and validate electrical layouts, conduit routing, panel locations, and equipment placement
  • Ensure compliance with BIM standards, project specifications, and electrical codes
  • Generate electrical drawings, schematics, and documentation from BIM models
  • Manage model data, file structures, and version control within BIM platforms (e.g., ACC/BIM 360)
  • Participate in coordination meetings with project teams and stakeholders
  • Provide technical support and guidance on electrical BIM workflows
  • Assist in improving BIM processes, templates, and standards


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of experience in BIM coordination with a focus on electrical systems
  • Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit (Electrical)
  • Experience with Navisworks, AutoCAD, and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC/BIM 360)
  • Knowledge of electrical systems design, installation, and construction practices
  • Understanding of relevant electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC)
