Job description


BIM / VDC Engineer
Minimum 3 years of Design Experience
Venteon is currently seeking an experienced BIM Design Engineer to fill an opening with a Construction Company located in Metro Detroit. Must have experience with REVIT; a background in Construction Modeling and Virtual Design is ideal.
Requirements of the Design Engineer
  • Must have Revit experience in order to qualify for this role.
  • 2-5 years of proven proficiency and experience in Revit 2020 required.
  • 2-3 years minimum experience with an electrical contratingc company (preferred) and/or Architectural/Engineering firm required.
  • AutoCAD 2020, Navisworks 2020 and Bluebeam 2020 experience a plus.
  • Autodesk Certified Professional (ACP) in Revit preferred.
  • Experience in laser scanning of facilities desirable, but not required.
  • Knowledge of data entry into Trimble robotics layout station is a plus.
  • Trimble laser scanning knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities of the Design Engineer
  • Perform VDC / BIM Coordination with other disciplines.
  • 3D Modeling in REVIT with 2D extractions in REVIT to paper.
  • Prepare detailed system layouts for power, lighting and control systems including all views and dimensions to support fabrication and installation.
  • Work in conjunction with the electrical foreman, project manager, electrical engineer, and other disciplines to create drawings and models for construction coordination and installation.
