The Opportunity
Are you the person who can hear a printer click and know exactly which gear is slipping? SignWarehouse is seeking a detail-oriented, hands-on Large Format Color Printer Technician to serve as our technical subject matter expert. This isn't just a "press print" job-you will be the backbone of our technical support, responsible for everything from remote troubleshooting and internal training to on-site repairs across North America.
Key Responsibilities
Your role is split between our technical hub and the field, ensuring our customers stay up and running.
  • Elite Technical Support: Provide Tier 2 support via phone, email, and chat for customers across North America.
  • Field Service & Travel: Travel 50-75% of the time to customer sites for installations, service, and high-level support.
  • Knowledge Leadership: Review, update, and create service documentation. You will also cross-train our internal Product Support Associates on printers, cutters, and RIP software.
  • Maintenance & Repair: Hands-on testing and repair of Large Format Printers, Vinyl Cutters, Laser Engravers, Heat Presses, and Graphic Design software.
  • Hardware Management: Manage the RMA process for warranty/OEM parts and handle the research, preparation, and shipping of critical components.
  • Sales Collaboration: Conduct product demonstrations for prospective customers and provide feedback to the team regarding product trends and recurring issues.

What You Bring to the Table
  • Technical Mastery: Proven experience operating, maintaining, and repairing large format color printers and vinyl cutters.
  • Color Theory Expert: Strong understanding of color management, calibration techniques, and RIP software.
  • Problem Solver: A "detective" mindset for troubleshooting hardware and software bottlenecks.
  • Communication Skills: The ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical customers clearly and patiently.
