Seasonal Turnover Maintenance Assistant - The Summit & Jacob Heights
Department: Property Admin
Employment Type: Seasonal - Full Time
Location: The Summit & Jacob Heights - Mankato, MN
Reporting To: Service Manager
Compensation: $15.00 / hour
Description
The Seasonal Turnover Maintenance Assistant supports the facilities team during peak seasonal operations, including apartment turnover periods and special projects. This role assists with minor maintenance, cleaning, inspections, and unit preparation to ensure a positive experience for current and new residents.
Job Responsibilities: (OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED)
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks including, but not limited to: changing filters, replacing light bulbs, repairing minor damages, securing fixtures, etc.
  • Assist with unit turnover (make-ready) processes, including cleaning, minor repairs, and preparation of apartments and bedspaces.
  • Support preventive maintenance and repair efforts to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Assist in quality checks of completed work to ensure units meet market-ready standards.
  • Assist in inspecting the community for maintenance issues and report findings to the supervisor and maintenance team.
  • Coordinate with vendors and staff as needed to support work order completion and project tasks.
  • Move, unload, and organize supplies, furniture, and equipment.
  • Responsible for understanding and following the Company key control policies and procedures.
  • Attend required staff meetings and safety trainings.
  • Participate in routine property and unit inspections.
  • Provide excellent customer service to residents, team members, and vendors.
  • Provide support to the maintenance team with additional tasks as needed and/or instructed.

This seasonal role is anticipated to last from 7/27/26 to 9/1/26. This seasonal role is anticipated to end 9/1/26, but may be shortened or lengthened based on business need.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
To be successful in this role, you should have:
  • Knowledge of general maintenance, repairs, and general make-ready of unit duties (trash out, cleaning and painting).
  • Ability to perform housekeeping and cleaning tasks and use small power/hand tools.
  • Ability to understand and follow MSDS rules for the handling and use of any chemicals.
  • Ability to drive a golf cart.
