The Anesthesia Tech demonstrates through clinical practice a clear understanding of aseptic techniques and has a working knowledge of the specialized equipment and supplies utilized by the Anesthesiologist/Certified Registered Nurse Anesthesiologist (CRNA).
 

Status/Shift 

Part-Time (2, 12hr shift)/Nights

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Restocks the anesthesia supplies, equipment and drugs in the operating room after each case.
  • Maintains and assures adequate inventory levels of anesthesia supplies in departmental service areas and is responsible for ordering these supplies.
  • Cleans and maintains the equipment utilized in the delivery of anesthetic service.
  • Sets up all invasive monitoring lines as requested by anesthesia.
  • Responds and assists Anesthesiologist/CRNA with all perioperative anesthesia emergencies.
  • Demonstrates competency in specific tasks and skills defined by the Surgical Services specific competency list.
  • Communicates appropriate information to the Anesthesiologist/CRNA and perioperative nursing staff.
  • Transports and delivers items, equipment, and medications (excluding controlled substances and IV chemotherapy drugs) throughout the facility.

Licensure/Certification


Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
