Job Description:Our client, a leading global communications/marketing agency, is seeking a VP-level Social Strategist to support a major beauty/Client client account. This is a fast-paced, high-ambiguity environment requiring someone who can operate as a true social strategist — spotting cultural and social trends, translating them into insights, and presenting them with confidence to the client. The ideal candidate will take ownership of workstreams as a solo strategist while also collaborating within a highly matrixed, integrated agency team (working alongside brand strategists and other specialists). This is a client-facing role requiring trust, polish, and staying power, as the team is looking to build a long-term relationship rather than rotate through multiple people.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a true social strategist, owning select projects independently as the primary/solo social strategist on certain workstreams
  • Work directly with the client, building trust and serving as a reliable, consistent presence
  • Monitor social and cultural trends (including platforms like TikTok) and translate them into actionable insights
  • Present insights and recommendations clearly and confidently to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Navigate a fast-paced, often ambiguous work environment, operating effectively with limited information
  • Collaborate cross-functionally within a matrixed agency structure, partnering with integrated and brand strategists as one piece of a larger team
  • Leverage social listening tools to track trends and sentiment relevant to the beauty/Client space
  • Balance independent ownership of workstreams with strong team collaboration

Minimum Requirements:

  • 8-10 years of experience in social strategy
  • Agency experience strongly preferred (brand-side experience may require longer ramp time)
  • Proven ability to operate independently in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with demonstrated client-facing experience
  • Demonstrated ability to identify social/cultural trends and translate them into strategic insights
  • Comfortable working within a matrixed team structure alongside other strategists and disciplines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Beauty or Client industry background
  • Familiarity with social listening tools such as Tubular, Talkwalker, or Brandwatch
  • Experience navigating client relationships with high visibility and fast turnaround needs
