Position Overview:

We are seeking a Vice President, Finance to provide leadership for the Finance function and the Finance team under the direction of the Senior Vice President of Finance. This role supports the SVP, Finance in strengthening the organization's financial planning, analysis, profitability, forecasting, reporting, and strategic finance capabilities. The Vice President collaborates with leadership, lines of business, auditors, examiners, and other stakeholders to translate complex financial information into actionable insights that support strategic objectives, financial sustainability, operational effectiveness, and member value. 


Core Responsibilities and Capabilities

Leadership and Service Alignment

  • Deliver exceptional service while ensuring Finance activities align with Allegacy's Brand Culture, mission, core values, bylaws, policies, regulatory requirements, internal controls, and established procedures.
  • Provide leadership by setting priorities, assigning work, coaching direct reports, monitoring performance, supporting professional development, and promoting accountability for high-quality work.

Financial Planning, Analysis, and Decision Support

  • Provide financial leadership and analytical direction that supports short- and long-term organizational goals, timely insights, and informed decision-making.
  • Support annual budgets, forecasts, long-range financial plans, trend analysis, financial modeling, scenario analysis, and ad hoc reporting aligned with strategy, capital planning, liquidity considerations, and performance goals.
  • Prepare and present clear financial insights, analyses, and recommendations for leadership, business partners, and strategic initiatives.

Reporting, Controls, and Process Improvement

  • Review and validate financial analyses, calculations, models, reports, dashboards, and decision-support tools to ensure accuracy, consistency, integrity, and clarity.
  • Monitor performance indicators, profitability measures, financial metrics, trends, risks, and opportunities while strengthening scalable finance processes and reporting routines.
  • Document, implement, and monitor finance-related policies, procedures, best practices, process improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Collaboration, Compliance, and Organizational Support

  • Partner with the SVP, Finance, leadership, and business partners to support financial planning, resource allocation, business decisions, organizational priorities, and data-driven decisions.
  • Coordinate with NCUA examiners and external auditors and maintain awareness of regulatory requirements, financial institution practices, and industry trends affecting Finance.
  • Support change management, cross-functional projects, special initiatives, and additional responsibilities assigned by the SVP, Finance.


Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of finance principles, FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, profitability analysis, pricing, performance measurement, and related financial institution practices.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, including the ability to interpret complex financial information, identify trends, evaluate risks and opportunities, and recommend practical actions.
  • Experience developing and reviewing financial models, forecasts, scenario analyses, dashboards, reporting routines, and decision-support tools.
  • Working knowledge of asset/liability management, balance sheet management, interest rate risk, liquidity considerations, and ALM-related concepts.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with leadership, business partners, auditors, examiners, and stakeholders while collaborating across departments to support data-driven decisions.
  • Strong understanding of data, reporting, analytics tools, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and financial reporting or analytical systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, deadlines, and ad hoc requests while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
  • Self-directed, adaptable, and solution-oriented.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field required
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in finance, FP&A, profitability analysis, pricing, budgeting, forecasting, or related financial management functions required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience preferred, including team supervision, coaching, workload prioritization, performance management, and staff development.
  • Financial institution, credit union, bank, or other highly regulated financial services experience strongly preferred, including exposure to ALM, balance sheet management, interest rate risk, liquidity analysis, or ALM modeling systems.
  • Experience developing financial models, executive-ready presentations, reports, dashboards, and decision-support analysis preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
