About the role
D-Wave is seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager to support execution of our gate-model quantum processing unit (QPU) product roadmap, with a focus on dual-rail qubit systems.
As a member of our Product Management team, you will translate quantum innovations into customer-focused products by partnering closely with engineering, program management, sales, marketing, and go-to-market teams. You will contribute to roadmap planning and development, define product requirements, and drive execution across hardware, software, and cloud-based solutions.
This D role bridges product strategy and engineering execution, ensuring our full-stack quantum systems and simulators deliver meaningful value to customers. You will work across the solution landscape, from standalone quantum systems to hybrid classical-quantum solutions, while engaging with customers to understand their goals, challenges, and evolving requirements.
This role will report to the VP, Gate Product Management.
What you'll do
  • Support the translation of product roadmap objectives and company goals into clear business and product requirements for development teams.
  • Define detailed product requirements for dual-rail gate-model quantum systems, simulators, and hybrid classical-quantum solutions.
  • Partner with hardware, software, and research teams to prioritize features, evaluate technical trade-offs, and drive alignment of development efforts with customer and business needs.
  • Gather and synthesize customer feedback, market insights, and product usage information, and competitive trends to inform prioritization and roadmap recommendations.
  • Collaborate with program management to track progress, proactively identify risks and dependencies, and help ensure successful product delivery.
  • Work with sales, marketing, and go-to-market teams to support product launches, messaging, and collateral development.
  • Develop a deep understanding of our quantum hardware, software stack, customer use cases, and market opportunities to inform product decisions.
  • Contribute to the development and evolution of the gate-model product roadmap through ongoing analysis of customer needs, technology advancements, and competitive trends.

About You
  • Master's degree in a technical discipline such as Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of product management experience supporting complex technical products, ideally involving integrated hardware and software systems in tech environments.
  • Strong experience working with full-stack technology solutions, including hardware, software, APIs, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear product requirements and customer value propositions.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build alignment across engineering, research, marketing, sales, go-to-market, and leadership teams.
  • Demonstrated success leading moderately complex product initiatives in cross-functional environments, navigating ambiguity, and maintaining momentum through technical challenges.
  • Proven ability to balance customer needs, business priorities, and technical feasibility when making product decisions.

Required
  • Background in quantum physics and quantum computing
  • Experience supporting products across multiple stages of maturity, from research prototypes through commercial deployment.
  • Experience contributing to product roadmaps within deep-tech, scientific computing, or advanced technology environments.
  • Familiarity with scientific computing tools (e.g., Python), cloud platforms, developer tools, or technical infrastructure.
  • Experience with both on-premises deployments and cloud-delivered quantum systems

Additional Requirements
  • Location: Hybrid role on the East Coast within commuting distance to New Haven, CT (e.g., New York City to Boston area). Must be able to travel to our New Haven facility.
  • Travel: Occasional travel for customer meetings, conferences, and collaboration with other company locations.
