DRS RADA Technologies, a subsidiary of Leonardo DRS, is focused on proprietary radar solutions and legacy avionics systems supporting the defense industry globally. The company is a global pioneer of AESA tactical radars for active military protection, counter-drone applications, critical infrastructure protection, and border surveillance.
Position Summary
The VP of Operations will be responsible for aligning the strategic vision for DRS RADA Technologies, USA. This Operations Leader will be responsible for manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, planning, and facilities for the site. They will ensure the processes; procedures, controls, and infrastructure are in place to deliver quality products, consistent with cost and schedule targets. As a member of the Company's executive staff, the VP of Operations, functions as a key contributor in determining the Company's competitive posture on current and future business. Also accountable for decisions which have a direct effect on the Company's short and long range financial performance.
Primary & Essential Accountabilities
• Provide strategic direction and assure achievement of accountabilities for all operations for our Germantown, Maryland location while driving collaboration with DRS RADA Technologies, Israel.
• Deliver products & services that meet cost, quality and time expectations by working collaboratively with Program Management, Customers and Engineering by developing, implementing and monitoring the execution of manufacturing plans and schedules.
• Manage the Monthly and Quarterly budgeting process and P&L responsibilities for revenue, EBITDA and Working Capital.
• Monitor performance to proactively identify efficiency issues and propose solutions.
• Drive innovative approaches to manufacturing employing Lean principles and championing continuous improvement ensuring key performance objectives are measured, monitored, and improved.
Ensure effective management of inventory and warehousing activities
• Interface with Customers at Appropriate levels to enhance relationships and confidence in our Capabilities
• Direct the development and implementation of standards and goals for each department and or company to support the organization's business plans
• Facilitates and coordinates the flow of information necessary to plan and evaluate performance at the operational and individual level
• Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
• Perform special projects as requested
Secondary Accountabilities:
• Actively participate on and lead group & corporate APEX and SCM initiatives
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Operations, Engineering, or Management related discipline with a minimum of 15 years of progressive experience
• Experience in a manufacturing DOD environment with a solid understanding of Cost to Cost revenue recognition
• Strong understanding of Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) as well as the systems, structures and processes to plan and execute the flow of goods and services from supplier to customer
• Demonstrated performance using continuous improvement (lean, six sigma, etc) approaches to improve quality, working capital, lead times, etc. Proven track record transforming red programs to green
• Team orientated leader with the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment with excellent communication skills - written and verbal
• Experience with all aspects of manufacturing from concept to the entire Product Life Cycle.
• Experience with researching, developing, and launching new products successfully.
• Experience in creating, launching, or implementing new products
• Experience with concurrent engineering to decreases product development time and lead to improved productivity and reduced costs.
• Experience with Deltek, Costpoint a plus

U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
The salary range for this position is ($236,840/year- $349,599) . This range reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to: Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate's qualifications such as prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for: annual performance-based bonuses, equity awards, and overtime pay (for non-exempt employees as applicable.
