Job Requirements
POSITION SUMMARY
The Vice President, Clinical Digital Platforms is accountable for enterprise clinical digital platforms across Health First's Integrated Delivery Network (IDN), with primary ownership of the Epic ecosystem. The Vice President, Clinical Digital Platforms ensures clinical technology enables high-quality, efficient, and scalable care delivery while improving clinician experience and delivering measurable clinical, operational, and financial outcomes. The Vice President, Clinical Digital Platforms, under the direction of the Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer, drives Epic platform strategy, governance, optimization, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) enabled innovation in close partnership with clinical, operational, and revenue cycle leaders. The Vice President, Clinical Digital Platforms also builds a high-performing clinical applications organization and ensures disciplined execution and value realization from enterprise platforms.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  1. Own enterprise strategy, roadmap, and performance for Epic and clinical digital platforms aligned to Health First's care delivery model and strategic priorities.
  2. Serve as executive partner to clinical, physician, operational, and revenue cycle leaders to enable standardized, high-performing, and clinician-centered workflows.
  3. Lead enterprise governance covering demand intake, prioritization, standardization, and investment decisions across clinical platforms.
  4. Drive systemwide optimization and reduction of unwarranted variation while preserving flexibility where clinically necessary.
  5. Advance AI, automation, and advanced platform capabilities to reduce administrative burden, improve decision-making, and enhance operational efficiency.
  6. Build, develop, and retain a high-performing clinical applications organization with strong leadership bench, succession planning, and future-ready skills.
  7. Ensure disciplined execution of large-scale initiatives with strong change management and clear measurement of outcomes and value realization.

LEADERSHIP ACCOUNTABILITIES
  1. Define and communicate a clear, compelling vision for the team that effectively ties into the mission and vision of Health First and inspire the team to achieve that vision.
  2. Provide leadership, motivation, coaching, feedback and support to foster and strengthen growth and development of an effective, high performing team.
  3. Lead change through effective communication, explaining the connection and value to the organization, creating stronger buy-in and urgency, while understanding impact to the team to obtain commitment.
  4. Demonstrate openness to hearing diverse ideas and thoughts; create a sense of inclusivity; and encourage collaboration across teams to help break down silos to meet the team's and organization's goals.
  5. Recruit, select, grow, and retain highly engaged, high performing diverse and inclusive associates.
  6. Display strong strategic and financial acumen in areas of responsibility in alignment with the organization's strategic objectives.

Work Experience
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education: Master's degree in Healthcare or Business Administration (MHA/MBA), Information Systems (MIS), or a relevant field.
  • Work Experience: Ten (10) or more years progressive healthcare leadership experience with accountability for enterprise clinical platforms, care delivery operations, or system-level transformation initiatives.
  • Licensure: None
  • Certification: Any one of the following prior to start date and maintained:
  1. Certified Healthcare Chief Information Officer (CHCIO) certification OR
  2. Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) certification OR
  3. Similar executive-level certification.
  • Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
  1. Deep Epic platform expertise - including governance, architecture, workflow design, and module integration across care settings.
  2. AI and emerging technology fluency - with practical knowledge of ambient AI, predictive analytics, and clinical decision support applications in Epic environments.
  3. Executive-level communication skills - with demonstrated ability to influence physicians, executives, and boards.
  4. Strong change management competency - including formal experience with OCM frameworks in healthcare technology contexts.
  5. Data literacy and analytics acumen - with the ability to leverage Epic and third-party reporting to drive strategic decisions.
  6. High emotional intelligence - with a track record of navigating complex organizational dynamics and building trust across diverse stakeholder groups.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education: Formal clinical education (e.g., RN, PharmD, MD, PA).
  • Work Experience: Formal clinical training (e.g., RN, PharmD, MD, PA) with active or previous licensure is highly desirable.
  • Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: Change Management: Demonstrated expertise in driving large-scale organizational and behavioral change, particularly when aligning diverse clinical stakeholders around standardized workflows.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Majority of time involves sitting or standing; occasional walking, bending, and stooping.
  • Long periods of computer time or at workstation.
  • Light work that may include lifting or moving objects up to 20 pounds with or without assistance.
  • May be exposed to inside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting and/or low to moderate noise.
  • Communicating with others to exchange information.
  • Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks.
  • Workspace may vary from open to confined.
  • May require travel to various facilities within and beyond county perimeter; may require use of personal vehicle.
