As an Operational Risk Management Lead Vice President within the Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk (CCOR) organization, you will servie as part of an independent second line of defense unit responsible for proactive identification of operational risks throughout the Firm.  CCOR is committed to being a world-class leader in risk management and you will assist the line of business in maintaining a system of strong controls, providing guidance and clear direction on key principles and proactively managing compliance, conduct, and operational risks.  You will evaluate and identify control design and/or execution deficiencies of the first line's delivery of risk & controls framework, control integration & assessment, risk treatment & analytics, deep dive topic reviews as well as governance and reporting practices. You will need to be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders including senior management as well as maintain credible relationships across technology, operational and control organizations. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines to ingest and transform third party risk management data from internal sources.
  • Develop analytical models, metrics, and visualizations to assess and monitor third party risks (e.g., operational resilience, financial viability, concentration risk).
  • Identify data-driven insights, emerging risks, trends, anomalies, early warning indicators and control gaps related to supplier performance and risk exposure.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of processes, models, and analytics, and share best practices with team members both firmwide and across LOBs
  • Provide an independent, objective view of the business and/or functional control environment, mitigation strategies and emerging risks.
  • Assess and aggregate risks across different lines of business and present results to relevant stakeholders in CCOR and the business.
  • Work across 2LOD and 1LOD to holistically align outcomes, impact and risk assessment of outsourcing risk
  • Drive communication and awareness of key Third Party Risk and Control initiatives.
  • Develop, strategize and execute CCOR activities while identifying emerging and potential manifestation of risk from outsourcing lens and exposure. 
  • Work both independently and as a core team member, engaging line of defense and functional support colleagues across multiple disciplines (i.e. Technology, Compliance, Risk Management, Legal, Controls, etc.), exhibiting strong relationship management and negotiation skills.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • 5+ years of banking or equivalent experience
  • Bachelor's or Legal degree in relevant technical or quantitative fields (e.g. Finance, Accounting,  Business, Economics, Computer Science, etc.) or comparable work experience required
  • Ability to analyze risk concentration areas and risk profiles through leveraging data from internal and external sources in order to comprehensively assess risk 
  • Experience with working with large, complex datasets and reporting
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to successfully communicate and influence management on all levels.
  • Ability to work independently or with limited instruction.
