Job Description:

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director, Engineering, to lead a multi-disciplinary engineering organization within one of LHX's most dynamic sectors. As a key member of the TSS Leadership Team, this role owns the technical vision, execution, and performance of the Sector engineering organization across the full lifecycle-from R&D through production and sustainment.

Reporting directly to the Sector President and indirectly to the Vice President, Engineering & Program Excellence, this leader is accountable for aligning engineering strategy with business growth priorities, customer commitments, and long-term enterprise objectives while operating in a complex, highly regulated environment that demands both innovation and rigor. The role will drive engineering transformation, strengthen organizational capability, and build a high-performing culture grounded in accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Essential Functions:

  • Own and execute the Sector engineering strategy in alignment with business growth and operational priorities.
  • Lead end-to-end technical strategy and product development across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Translate enterprise and customer needs into actionable technical roadmaps and delivery plans.
  • Accountable for engineering execution across development, quality, deployment, and sustainment of products and solutions.
  • Lead engineering transformation initiatives that improve scalability, efficiency, and technical capability across the Sector.
  • Drive long-term technical planning, including technology roadmaps, organizational design, succession planning, and capacity planning.
  • Champion innovation by driving adoption of emerging technologies, modern tools, and improved ways of working while ensuring delivery accountability.
  • Provide executive leadership oversight across engineering activities spanning four business units.
  • Ensure delivery excellence across cost, schedule, quality, regulatory, and customer requirements.
  • Establish governance models, metrics, and operating rhythms to ensure consistent execution and accountability across teams.
  • Own resource planning, prioritization, and allocation to optimize delivery against business and program commitments.
  • Standardize engineering processes, tools, and best practices to improve efficiency and scalability across the Sector.
  • Build and develop a strong leadership pipeline and high-performing engineering organization.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline with a minimum of 15 years of prior related leadership experience.
  • Active Top Secret Clearance
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, including international travel, as required.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Active Secret Security Clearance
  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale, multi-disciplinary engineering organizations across multiple business units or sites.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements including ITAR, and related industry standards.
  • Proven success leading technical strategy, product development, operational transformation, and organizational growth initiatives.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to plan, execute, and deliver complex initiatives on time and within budget.
  • Demonstrated success supporting factory readiness, production launch, and full product lifecycle management activities.
  • Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to align engineering priorities to operational and commercial objectives.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and executive influencing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through change and build high-performing, engaged technical organizations.
