Overview
We're looking to hire a Vice President of Credit Structuring to work in the Infrastructure and Energy (I&E) financing team. Credit Structuring is the vertical within the Investment Bank focused on the most structurally complex transactions, working alongside Trading and Sales.
This is a front office, client-facing business role originating, structuring, executing, and risk-managing trades. Typical structures are mezzanine debt, subordinated capital, bridges, and special situations. The role also involves managing distressed positions. The team is structure-agnostic, with trades spanning project finance, corporate loans, asset-backed loans, and securitizations.
I&E is Deutsche Bank's infrastructure and energy principal financing team for the Americas. The team manages a principal loan book of around $4bn, lending to companies at various levels of the capital stack. I&E sits within the broader Private Credit and Infrastructure (PCI) business unit within Fixed Income.

What You'll Do
  • Deal structuring, diligence, and execution as well as ongoing deal monitoring
  • Be a multifaceted member of the team in a role that combines being a legal expert, structurer, and working with traders, originators, and syndicators
  • Use your strong qualitative assessment abilities, diligence, legal communication skills, and negotiation prowess to engage with external counsel and clients and develop relationships with internal risk and control functions
  • Manage a full range of origination, diligence, and execution work streams
  • Lead and mentor junior team members

How You'll Lead
  • Working with internal groups within the Bank including the Banking coverage teams, the trading desks and sales, and be comfortable in working with external constituents as indicated above
  • Mentoring and developing junior resources

Skills You'll Need
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Extensive legal experience in a recognized law firm or other legal practice forum
  • Experience focused on infrastructure financing, including project finance and corporate style financings in the infrastructure and energy sectors
  • Client relationships in the infrastructure and energy sector are not required but are a positive
  • Superior legal drafting, analytical, and communication skills

Expectations
It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York, NY office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.
