We are looking for an Vice President Sales to join our Employee Benefits team on a Hybrid work schedule.
Job Responsibilities:
Promote and distribute general agency products and services to the outside brokerage community. The Vice President for Sales has ultimate accountability for the broker relationships his/her team is responsible for; the VP is expected to focus his/her energy in several key areas of planning, production and maintenance - and in addition serve as role model for, and mentor to, other producers in the FNA/FBP offices:
  • Service and monitor in-force accounts and disseminate account activity
  • Evaluate existing coverages and make recommendations as needed
  • Manage renewal processes and ensure account retention.
  • Interact with carriers regarding submissions and escalated complaints
  • Prepare and review benefit and cost comparisons using quoting system and/or excel spread sheeting
  • Respond to service inquiries

New Brokers:
  • Identify new brokers that do not currently write any of their business with FNA and Flexible Benefits.
  • Develop these brokers through touches with FNA and Flexible Benefits - attending CEs, using the website, assisting them with questions, etc.; and,
  • Positively influence them to write their new business with FNA and Flexible Benefits (whether all/limited carriers, lines, etc.).

Existing Brokers:
  • Retain current business while minimizing lateral movement (whenever possible) - maintain business with carriers whenever possible to ensure optimal retention.
  • Add additional lines of coverage to existing business.
  • Develop new business (especially expanding the broker relationships where they work with us in a limited way (e.g. one carrier, individual only); and,
  • If brokers are being transitioned from another Producer, transition those brokers seamlessly.

Business Plan:
  • Develop a business plan of each year as a road map for meeting and exceeding targeted objectives.
  • The planning document should include an acknowledgement of previous goals and results and a dashboard of the key action steps that must be continually reviewed/refined and as well re-prioritized as necessary.
  • The B-plan for a VP must include their development and mentorship role.

Producer Team Leadership:
  • In addition to all other responsibilities, the VP will be recognized as a go-to individual for assistance, direction, advice, etc. with business development issues and opportunities for the team and newer Producers as they develop their style/approach within the FNA family.

The candidate will be expected to grow and effectively manage their book of brokers through a careful balance of satisfying the needs of the brokers and consulting house customers. The position requires that the candidate juggle many tasks at once to ensure timely and accurate responses. The candidate will also be required to contribute to the overall external marketing initiatives in both design and execution and maintain FNA and Flexible Benefit's reputation as a well-respected industry leader. The candidate must excel in product/carrier/market knowledge and exhibit strong problem solving and follow up skills.
Position Qualifications:
  • Seven years of employee benefits insurance experience.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of employee benefits, coverages, and markets.
  • Producer's license.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products especially excel.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Candidate Development:
  • Performance reviews will be performed annually
  • Opportunities for advancement will be based upon merit and exemplary results against business objectives
