The Vice President, Event Strategy & Management will lead Vizient's enterprise-wide event strategy as a core driver of growth, client retention & satisfaction and brand differentiation. This executive will transform events from primarily programmatic engagements into measurable enterprise experiences that deepen relationships with hospital leaders, influence pipeline, and strengthen long-term client value. This role reports to the SVP, Enterprise Marketing and works in close partnership with sales, client networks, business units and executive leadership.

Event Strategy & Planning
Define and lead Vizient's enterprise-wide event strategy aligned to growth, retention, and brand objectives.
Create event marketing initiatives and outlines, including agendas, themes, and programming that reflect market trends and company growth objectives.
Rationalize and prioritize the event portfolio (flagship conferences, C-suite forums, regional events, internal meetings, virtual experiences) based on clear commercial purpose.
Partner with Marketing, Sales and Research to align themes, speakers and client experience to strategic objectives.

Project Leadership & Cross-Functional Coordination

Serve as the operational lead for all aspects of event planning, including content development, registration, meeting schedules, onsite logistics, vendor management, technology platforms, and post-event deliverables.
Oversee and manage collaboration with internal
Partner and manage all event vendors, including event logistics partners, A/V, hospitality, transportation, and registration platforms.

Client Experience & Executive Engagement
Ensure all event participants receive a consistent, high-touch, white-glove level of service at every interaction.
Design differentiated, high-value experiences for hospital CEOs, CFOs, COOs, CMOs and clinical leaders.
Elevate Vizient's executive presence through cohesive event journey design from invitation, programming, on-site engagement, and post-event follow-up.
Ensure consistency in brand, messaging and experience across all enterprise touchpoints.

Operational Excellence & ROI

Drive continuous improvement in event processes, workflows, communication, and internal records.
Build frameworks for event ROI measurement, including post event analysis, attendance metrics, investor engagement, and broker-vote impact.
Oversee event data, CRM inputs, and internal reporting in partnership with internal data management team.
Establish clear governance, operating rhythms, SLAs and budget accountability across partners.
Define clear KPIs tied to pipeline influence, retention, engagement, NPS and cost efficiency.
Deliver executive-level dashboards and post-event analyses demonstrating measurable business impact.
Manage internal planning cycles, forecasting accuracy and budget transparency.
Ensure risk management, compliance and operational excellence standards are consistently met.

Team Leadership
Lead and develop a high-performing event strategy team focused on accountability and results.
Operate effectively in a matrixed environment with executive visibility and enterprise impact.
Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on how events can accelerate strategic priorities.

Requirements:

Experience:10+ year experience in event strategy, management and logistics for corporate events.

Education: Bachelor's degree preferred

Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and build high-performing teams, and to influence cross-functional groups to achieve organizational goals.

Communication & Collaboration: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and align stakeholders at all levels.


Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $156,500.00 to $290,100.00.
