Job Description

Mars United Commerce is seeking an Executive Vice President, Digital Commerce. This executive leadership role is responsible for driving the strategic growth, operational excellence, and innovation of the agency's digital commerce practice. This leader will oversee a 150-person team delivering integrated retail media, eCommerce, marketplace, and digital commerce solutions for our clients and engage in pitch opportunities for potential clients or retention efforts. 

The EVP will own a $50M business, with responsibility for P&L performance, client growth, product development, and team leadership. This role requires a visionary leader who can scale capabilities, deepen partnerships with retailers and platforms, and position the agency as a market leader in retail media and eCommerce transformation. 

They will also collaborate closely with cross-agency leadership across strategy, data, creative, and technology to deliver integrated commerce solutions that drive measurable business outcomes for clients. 

Key Responsibilities 

Strategic Leadership 

  • Define and lead the commerce vision and growth strategy across all commerce shelves including digital, social, and agentic through retail media and e-commerce marketing. 

  • Identify emerging opportunities in retail media networks, marketplace ecosystems, and commerce technology. 

  • Build scalable offerings that integrate media, content, data, and technology to drive commerce performance. 

  • Represent the commerce practice within the broader holding company leadership ecosystem. 

  • Work within the broader Publicis network to build relationships with key partners and stakeholders. 

P&L Ownership and Business Growth 

  • Own full P&L responsibility for digital commerce practice. 

  • Deliver consistent revenue growth through new business acquisition, client expansion, and new service offerings. 

  • Lead pricing strategy, revenue forecasting, margin management, and operational efficiency. 

  • Partner with leadership to identify partnerships and capability expansion opportunities. 

Client Leadership 

  • Serve as digital commerce expert for key client relationships. 

  • Guide clients through commerce transformation, including retail media investment strategies and omnichannel commerce operations. 

  • Drive thought leadership and strategic counsel for senior client stakeholders including CMOs, Heads of eCommerce, and Chief Digital Officers. 

  • Own Retail Media and Platform Partnerships 

  • Build and maintain executive relationships with major retail media networks and marketplaces. 

  • Expand the agency's presence across retailer platforms. 

  • Partner with technology providers to enhance commerce data, automation, and analytics capabilities. 

Team Leadership and Culture 

  • Lead and inspire a 150-person retail media and eCommerce team. 

  • Build leadership bench strength and develop next-generation leaders. 

  • Drive a culture of innovation, accountability, and high performance. 

  • Ensure strong operational structure and scalable delivery models. 

Innovation and Thought Leadership 

  • Position the agency as a thought leader in digital commerce and retail media. 

  • Lead development of proprietary methodologies, frameworks, and measurement models. 

  • Represent the agency at industry events, conferences, and executive forums. 

Key Qualifications 

Experience 

  • 15+ years in digital commerce, retail media, performance marketing, or eCommerce consulting. 

  • Proven leadership experience managing large teams (100+ people) and $40M+ businesses. 

  • Experience within a global agency network, consulting firm, or commerce technology company. 

  • Strong expertise in retail media networks, marketplaces, and omnichannel commerce. 

Leadership Capabilities 

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to scale complex organizations and service offerings. 

  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth and margin expansion. 

  • Exceptional client leadership and executive presence. 

  • Ability to navigate matrixed holding company environments. 

Functional Expertise 

  • Retail media strategy and investment 

  • Marketplace management and optimization 

  • Digital shelf analytics and content strategy

 Compensation Range: USD $325,000.00 - USD $385,000.00/Annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. This role may also be eligible for bonus or incentive compensation. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met.
