Role Overview

The Vice President of Marketing for the CoStar product will define and execute the global B2B marketing strategy for CoStar's flagship commercial real estate intelligence platform. This executive leader will own product positioning, go-to-market strategy, and integrated marketing execution-ensuring CoStar is consistently recognized as the essential intelligence platform for commercial real estate professionals worldwide.

This role requires a strategic, commercially minded marketing leader with deep experience operating on a global scale within complex, data-driven organizations. The VP will partner closely with senior leaders across Sales and Product to translate product innovation into clear market leadership, drive customer adoption, and deliver measurable revenue impact.

This position offers a unique opportunity to shape how the global commercial real estate industry understands, values, and relies on data-at an unmatched scale, influence, and competitive intensity. The role is based in Arlington, Virginia and requires five days per week in the office.

Marketing Scope & Core Lanes of Ownership

The Vice President of Marketing will own three primary lanes of marketing accountability, spanning the full customer lifecycle:

Awareness & Market Leadership

  • Build and sustain CoStar's position as the definitive, authoritative global source for real estate data and insights.
  • Drive global brand leadership through research and product led storytelling, thought leadership and industry presence.
  • Strengthen awareness, preference, and trust among real estate decision-makers.

Demand Generation & Customer Conversion

  • Lead disciplined go-to-market strategy that drives qualified enterprise demand, pipeline growth, and customer acquisition.
  • Own product positioning, messaging, and integrated campaigns that convert awareness into adoption and revenue.
  • Partner closely with Sales and product leadership to ensure marketing meaningfully improves sales efficiency, win rates, and deal size.

Retention, Renewal & Customer Expansion

  • Ensure marketing plays an active role beyond acquisition-supporting onboarding, adoption, renewal, and product expansion.
  • Collaborate with Product and customer-facing teams to reinforce value realization and long-term client engagement.
  • Support enterprise retention and growth through targeted lifecycle programs and customer insights.

  • Partner with Product, Sales, and Research to develop gotomarket strategies that prioritize target audiences, sharpen value propositions, and accelerate customer adoption and expansion.

Data & Performance Management

  • Establish and manage KPIs, dashboards, and reporting frameworks to measure marketing's impact on pipeline, revenue, and client engagement.
  • Leverage data driven insights to optimize marketing investment, ROI, and execution effectiveness.
  • Ensure customer and market feedback informs product marketing, sales enablement, and ongoing GTM strategy.

Commercial Impact

  • Material contribution to revenue growth by increasing qualified pipeline, expansion revenue, and multiproduct adoption across core CoStar customer segments.
  • Improved sales efficiency, demonstrated by higher marketing sourced and marketing influenced pipeline contribution, reduced CAC, and improved win rates on CoStar led deals.
  • Stronger enterprise penetration, with marketing programs that measurably support larger deal sizes, longer-term contracts, and cross sell/upsell motion.

Required Experience

  • 15+ years of progressive B2B marketing experience, ideally in SaaS, data, analytics, or enterprise technology.

  • Deep expertise in gotomarket planning, product marketing, demand generation, and enterprise sales enablement.
  • Strong business acumen with demonstrated ability to drive measurable commercial outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and executive level stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience operating effectively within a highly matrixed, $1B+ organization.
  • Track record of long-term commitment and impact at prior organizations.

The final salary or hourly rate offered for this role with fall within the range set forth below based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, skills, and competencies.


Base Compensation: $230,000.00 - $386,000.00 Annually
