Who You'll Work With
The role reports to the EVP of Product, Pricing and Investments.
About The Role
The Vice President of Deal Management will be responsible for managing the end-to-end deal process, including RFP, RFI and fee benchmarking for our Retirement Services business. This individual will provide strategic guidance on complex deals, including new business and retention bids, and pricing to meet our goals while responsibly managing margins. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong team leadership, exceptional communication skills and an astute grasp of retirement plan economics. Our platform includes 403(b), 457, HRA and NQDC plans.
This leader will manage and develop a high-performing team within Retirement Services and partner closely with Product Management, Distribution, Relationship Management, Pricing, Risk and other key stakeholders.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Group Retirement Sales, Relationship Management, Consultant Relations, Product and Pricing teams to shape competitive, strategic bids and maximize win probability
  • Own the deal management operation, creating efficient workflows from proposal to signature; mitigate risks by enforcing compliance with pricing and other models
  • Serve as first point of contact for complex or non-standard terms, engage directly with stakeholders to resolve issues or objections
  • Manage and mentor the team fostering a culture of winning, high performance, accountability and continuous development; this includes RFP content, bid unit and deal coordination
  • Utilize CRM data to monitor pipelines, identify bottlenecks and provide insights to leadership regarding bid performance and profitability
  • Identify, design and implement process improvements, including tools, to drive efficiency, reduce manual work, and improve stakeholder satisfaction across

Skills and qualifications:
  • 7+ experience in deal management or sales operations with at least 3 years in a leadership role within a financial services B2B environment
  • Experience with retirement plans (ERISA and non-ERISA) preferred
  • Strong understanding of bid economics and product profitability
  • Expertise in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and proposal tools
  • Proven ability to manage teams, develop talent, drive change and influence stakeholders
  • Strategic thinker with growth mindset
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present analyses clearly to senior leaders
  • Culture carrier and both team leader and team player
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics or Business

This position is based in Corebridge Financial's Houston, TX office.
