Senior Vice President of Asset Management – Sunroad Asset Management, Inc.

Job Summary:

The SVP Asset Management is responsible for leading the Sunroad Asset Management team to achieve the operational and financial performance goals while partnering with and advising leadership of our third party Operating Partners. The SVP is responsible for leading the strategies, process development and budgets of the Asset Management and Capital teams of Sunroad. Working in partnership with key Financial and Business leaders, they expand communications, foster collaboration and build the organization to drive outperformance versus benchmark set. As a part of the Sunroad senior leadership team, this SVP will help establish goals/objectives, and best practices for the broader organization. This role also provides guidance on the various functions on day-to-day operations, improvements/innovations in systems/programs, and assessments on their performance and people. This individual serves as the responsible leader for Sunroad Operators.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and execute the asset management strategy in alignment with the company's overall goals and objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of asset management professionals, including portfolio managers, analysts, and support staff.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to set organizational priorities and ensure cohesive execution of asset management strategies.
  • Oversee the management of investment portfolios, ensuring optimal asset allocation and risk management.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of market trends, economic conditions, and investment opportunities to inform decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand assets.
  • Present investment strategies and performance results to clients, stakeholders, and board members.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of investment portfolios, making adjustments as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Implement risk management practices to safeguard the firm's assets and mitigate potential losses.
  • Prepare and review reports on investment performance, risk exposure, and market conditions.
  • Oversee the operational aspects of asset management, including portfolio administration, compliance, and reporting.
  • Ensure that operational processes are efficient, accurate, and aligned with industry best practices.
  • Work with other departments, such as compliance, legal, and finance, to ensure smooth and integrated operations.
  • Maintain satisfactory attendance.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, hire, and train department staff.
  • Oversee the daily workflow of the department.
  • Conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations.
  • Manage discipline and termination of employees in alignment with company policies.

Qualifications:

Minium Qualifications:

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of multifamily related experience, with at least five (5) years in a senior leadership or executive role.
  • Experience working with the investing arm of a large Private Equity firm.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Ability to perform all essential functions of the job description.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance.
  • In-depth understanding of investment strategies, portfolio management, financial markets, and risk management.
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance.
  • Experience working with the investing arm of a large Private Equity firm.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and mentor large winning teams
  • Strong leadership and management skills, exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
  • Ability to develop and implement long-term strategies that align with company goals.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Focused on achieving and exceeding performance targets and objectives.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Experience managing remote teams effectively.
  • Experience in real estate data analysis.
