Staff VP Advanced Analytics

Summary

The Staff VP Advanced Analytics is responsible for providing analytical and strategic decision support to identify business opportunities for optimization of business results. This is a senior analytics and insights leader responsible for setting the strategic direction, operating model, and execution ofCarelon'sanalysis and insights capabilities. This role leads a high-performing organization that delivers tailored, data-driven insightsand consultative analyticsto support strategy, performance, and outcomes across clinical and specialty business areas.

This leader partners closely with Carelon and Elevance Health business leaders to explore and interpret complex data, uncover meaningful patterns, and translate analytics into clear, fact-based recommendations. The role is accountable for enabling informed decision-making, improving network performance andutilizationmanagement, and advancing member outcomes through rigorous analysis, program evaluation, and scalable analytic solutions.

Strategic Leadership & Direction

  • Define and own the enterprise Analysis & Insights strategy, aligned to Carelon Insights priorities andbroaderCarelon and Elevance Health businessobjectives.
  • Establish a clear analytical vision and roadmap that balances bespoke insights, repeatable analytic assets, and scalable self-service capabilities.
  • Design and evolve the operating model, including a clear "front door" for stakeholder engagement, ensuring consistent intake, prioritization, and delivery of analytic work.

Team Leadership & Talent Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team of analytics professionals, including people managers, senior analysts, and data science leaders embedded across business units.
  • Build a culture of curiosity, rigor, and accountability, withhigh standardsfor analytic quality, storytelling, and measurable business impact.
  • Ensure the organization has the right mix of strategic thinkers, technical experts, and consultative partners to meet current and future needs.

Analysis, Insights & Decision Support

  • Oversee the delivery of tailored, data-driven insights that support strategy, performance management, andoutcomesimprovement across clinical and specialty domains.
  • Guide exploratory and interpretive analyses to uncover trends,utilizationpatterns, network performance opportunities, and drivers of member outcomes.
  • Ensure insights are translated into clear, actionable, fact-based recommendations that inform leadership decisions and strategic direction.

Program Evaluation & Impact Measurement

  • Lead the design and execution of program evaluation frameworks to assess effectiveness, ROI, and outcomes of key initiatives.
  • Ensure consistent, credible measurement approaches that enable leaders to understand what is working, what shouldscale, and what should be redesigned ordiscontinued.
  • Partner with business and clinical teams to track performance over time and quantify realized impact.

Advanced Analytics, Tools & Products

  • Oversee the design, deployment, and optimization of predictive models, analytic tools, and user-friendly self-service capabilities.
  • Ensure stakeholders have reliable access to high-quality analytic solutions that supporttimelydecision-making.
  • Drive the strategy to package and scale analytic capabilities into repeatable and sellable analytic products.

Stakeholder Partnership & Enterprise Enablement

  • Serve as a trusted thought partner and primary analytics point-of-contact ("front door") for senior leaders across clinical and specialty business areas.
  • Provide cross-functional analytic support across all pods, with dedicated personnel embedded within business units whilemaintainingenterprise alignment.
  • Lead executive-level discussions and presentations, translating complex analytics into compelling narratives and strategic recommendations.

Position Requirements

Requires a BA/BS in Math or Business Administration and a minimum of 7 years management experience in healthcare industry; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences

  • 7+ years of experience in analytics, insights, healthcare strategy, or related domains.
  • Advanced degree (MBA, MPH, MS, PhD) preferred.
  • Demonstrated success leading large, complex analytics andinsightsorganizations with both direct and indirect reports.
  • Deep experience in healthcare analytics, includingutilizationmanagement, network performance, program evaluation, and outcomes measurement.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders andoperateeffectively in a highly matrixed enterprise environment.
  • Exceptional executive communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate analysis into decisions and action.

For candidates working in person or virtually in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $197,600 to $355,680
