The Home Health Administrator and Agency Liaison provides support with a variety of clinical and clerical activities and related tasks for Advanced Infusion Care (AIC) and Advanced Nursing Solutions (ANS). This LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) position facilitates smooth and uninterrupted daily operations of the ANS HHA office, acts as liaison between AIC, ANS and subcontracted nursing agencies, and manages the HHA invoice reconciliation process. The Home Health Administrator collaborates with the Alternate Administrator, a qualified person designated to act in their absence. This position aids with the initial, subsequent, and ongoing ANS accreditation survey and processes to ensure accreditation standards are met.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Licensed Practical Nurse certified
• One-year supervisory experience in home care.
• Previous management and administrative experience preferred.
• Home health or home infusion experience is preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:
• Receive, review, process and reconcile HHA invoices for payment. These are sent to Accounts Payable for payment.
• Assists VP of Clinical Operations, Chief Nursing Officer, Regional Director of Nursing and General Manager with special projects as needed.
• Audit HHA credentials, patient charts and other essential documents/documentation required to ensure accreditation standards are met.
• Acts as liaison between AIC, ANS and subcontracted nursing agencies.
• Assists Chief Nursing officer, Regional Director, and Regional Nurse Administrator with initial and subsequent surveys to ensure each office is survey ready and accreditation standards are met.
• Assists with preparation and responses for Health Care Administration communication and audits in a timely manner.
• Facilitates smooth and uninterrupted daily operations of the ANS office.
• Works in collaboration with the Administrator and is responsible for overseeing home health agency services to the extent is delegated by the Governing Body.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal laws and maintains proper licensure for the Home Health Agency.
• Maintains agency documents for each employee and contractor to ensure proper retention requirements.
• Works collaboratively with nursing and nurse educators to maintain processes and procedures to ensure that the selection, documentation, screening, and verification of credentials for all contractors referred by the agency meet state requirements.
• Must be available to the public for any eight consecutive hours between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday through Friday of each week, excluding legal and religious holidays. Available to the public means being readily available on the premises or by telecommunications. If Administrator is not available, the alternate administrator is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week for emergency phone calls, to address caregiver or client concerns, to appropriately manage staffing, and to respond to calls if necessary.
• Responsible to partner with the compliance department in maintenance and updating of the emergency management plan and registration of the emergency management plan with the county.
• Acts as a liaison between the Governing Body and staff.
• Employs qualified personnel in accordance with job descriptions.
• Maintains appropriate personnel records, administrative records, and all policies and procedures of the Company.
• Assists with the completion, maintenance, and submission of such reports and records as required by the Secretary of Health and Environment.
• Ensures each patient admitted to ANS receives, in writing, the Patient's Bill of Rights.
• Takes reasonable steps to assure that:
o Services are available
o Care/services provided by agency personnel and contracted agency personnel are coordinated and integrated.
o Policies and procedures, which guide and support the provision of care/services, are developed, updated, implemented and distributed to staff.
o Recommendations for needed resources are made.
• Ensures the Alternate Administrator is qualified and possess appropriate clinical training and experience as verified by:
o Review of education, training, and previous work experience.
o Verification of licensure, education.
o Interview for understanding of care/service being provided as well as population being served.
o Management experience and clinical knowledge.
• Responsible for the oversight of nursing operations through consultation and collaboration with operational staff:
o Staffing is reviewed in combination with patient census, acuity, etc.
o If staffing is problematic, the Administrator will review options including but not limited to, the use of overtime by ANS employees.
o Any issue not resolved will be brought to the attention of the Regional Director of Nursing.
• The Administrator has access to qualified clinical consultation for services outside his/her expertise, through use of the Chief Nursing Officer, Medical Director and/or any other resources as appropriate.
• In collaboration with Quality and compliance committee, is responsible for agency PI and infection control monitoring/reporting activities.
• Shares knowledge gained with other staff members and works as a team.
• Answers telephones, prescreens, and directs the caller to the appropriate associate. Will transfer a caller to an associate's voice mailbox when the associate is unavailable.
• Takes and retrieves messages for various personnel.
• Assists in the ordering, receiving, stocking and distribution of office and breakroom supplies.
• Checks e-mails and faxes throughout the day for documents that need direction or attention.
• Answers the door by greeting and directing visitors and deliveries accordingly.
• Provides callers with information such as company address, directions to the company location, company fax numbers, company website and other related information.
• Assists nursing and OPS staff with administrative support when requested.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
• Interacts with others in a positive, respectful, and considerate manner.
• Recognizes patients' rights and responsibilities and supports them in the performance of job duties, respects patient's rights to privacy and confidentiality.
