Veterinary Practice Manager

Location: Hamburg, NJ
Hamburg Veterinary Clinic is a full-service animal hospital dedicated to providing exceptional care to pets in Hamburg and Sussex County for over 40 years. With a warm and inviting atmosphere, advanced diagnostic tools, and a commitment to excellence, our 4-doctor hospital is focused on improving the lives of pets and their owners.
We are seeking an experienced and passionate leader to join our team as a Practice Manager. In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our clinic, lead a team of dedicated professionals, and ensure the highest standards of care and service for our patients and clients. If you're a proactive and dynamic individual with a background in veterinary management, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop approximately 15 or more direct reports, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with the Learning & Development team to ensure staff training and performance meet expectations and deliver an unmatched client experience.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director to maintain high-quality medical care and optimize veterinarian schedules for client needs.
  • Manage various aspects of the facility, including purchasing, property management, and compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Utilize creative marketing strategies to increase clientele and build the Urgent Care side of the business.
  • Develop annual budgets, monitor practice revenue, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operational excellence.

Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years of veterinary management experience
  • Veterinary marketing experience is beneficial.
  • Experience as a licensed veterinary technician (LVT) or certified veterinary practice manager (CVPM) is ideal but not required.
  • SHRM-CP, BS, MBA, or other advanced degrees are a plus.
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on team building and staff development.
  • Decisive decision-making ability and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to challenges.
