Medical Director - Veterinary General Practice

Compensation: $150,000 - $180,000 / year

Key Responsibilities
Our team strives to exceed expectations and sweep our clients off their feet with concierge-style customer care, tailored patient care, and ethical and effective medical and surgical interventions. We have a talented support staff, a strong management team, and integrative medicine resources available. And, one of less than 100 veterinary behaviorists in the country on our staff.
Summarized responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Medical Guidance - Maintains consistent medical standards and protocols, promotes complete and accurate patient records, and regularly discusses cases with the team to optimize patient care.
  • Patient & Client Management - Treats patients and clients with attentiveness and empathy, assists with client medical complaints, advocates for protocols to continuously improve the client experience, and holds individuals accountable for client service and patient care.
  • Staff Management - Supports individualism, fosters a fun work environment, mentors associate doctors, and supports technical staff development.
  • Business Operations & Financial Success - Provides guidance feedback to associates on financial performance and reports on KPIs, supports the implementation of client marketing programs, reviews requests for additional inventory, ensures justification, assists in maintaining the pharmacy, and works with the budget, assesses focus areas with Operations Team.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university, or equivalent
  • Active veterinarian licensure in good standing to practice in the state of Texas
  • 5+ years of experience practicing small animal veterinary medicine
  • Experience providing objective leadership, with the ability to influence staff and outcomes, flexibility to manage competing hospital needs, and the ability to partner effectively with hospital leaders and staff alike on medical and business objectives
  • A high commitment to the highest standard of medicine and alignment with PAZ's core values
