Job description

Whether you come from a background in military service, event planning, partnership development, community outreach, or business development, you can be successful in this role. We don't require a specific degree or experience, but we're looking for translatable skills and relevant expertise. We will provide you with the training and development opportunities needed to build a career here!

About The Role:

As a Military Relations Manager, you'll help strengthen Veterans United's connection to the military community through meaningful relationships, educational outreach, and national events. Whether you're representing Veterans United at conferences, building partnerships with military organizations, or coordinating educational opportunities, you'll play an important role in expanding our reach and helping more Veterans and Service Members learn about their homebuying benefits.

Depending on your assignment, you'll focus on one of two areas: Event Management and Internal Coordination or Strategic Outreach and Partnership Development. No matter your focus, you'll collaborate with teams across the company while building lasting relationships that make a real impact for the military community.

Here's a snapshot of what you'd be doing:

Event Management and Internal Coordination

  • Plan and coordinate educational classes and military-focused events alongside internal teams and trusted partners.

  • Work closely with Marketing and event organizers to develop event strategies, manage budgets, negotiate contracts, and coordinate vendors.

  • Organize travel, lodging, event logistics, booth materials, and promotional efforts across social media, email, and advertising channels.

  • Research upcoming military conferences and events while maintaining schedules and preparing materials needed for successful participation.

  • Build relationships with military personnel and organizational leaders while representing Veterans United in a professional and engaging way.

  • Track event expenses, support event promotion efforts, and help strengthen our team and culture by jumping in wherever needed.

Strategic Outreach and Partnership Development

  • Represent Veterans United at military conferences by coordinating booth logistics, staffing events, and evaluating event success.

  • Build partnerships with military installations, Guard units, and corporate organizations to expand educational opportunities for Service Members and Veterans.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with military associations and organizations across each branch of service.

  • Coordinate travel and logistics for conferences, conventions, and military expos while ensuring events run smoothly.

  • Research new outreach opportunities, maintain event schedules, and prepare educational materials that support our mission.

  • Build trusted relationships with military leaders and partners while contributing to a collaborative, high-performing team culture.

About You:

  • You're highly organized and know how to manage multiple priorities while keeping projects and events running smoothly.

  • You communicate confidently with people from all backgrounds, including senior military leaders, partners, and co-workers.

  • You stay calm under pressure and enjoy finding solutions when plans change or challenges arise.

  • You build strong, collaborative relationships based on trust, professionalism, and mutual respect.

  • You're a natural leader who enjoys bringing people together around a common goal.

  • Providing exceptional customer service and creating positive experiences comes naturally to you.

  • You thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment while working closely with others.

  • Advanced Excel skills help you stay organized and manage information effectively.

  • You show up consistently and can be counted on to get the job done.

  • You're available to occasionally work evenings, weekends, or holidays when events require it.

  • You're excited to travel, approximately 15% - 25%.

About Us:

We're all about helping Veterans and military families become homeowners. In two short decades, we closed over 500,000 VA Loans and became the #1 VA lender for homebuyers in the nation. But to us, success isn't measured in numbers. Our success is measured in living our values every day: Be Passionate and Have Fun, Deliver Results with Integrity and Enhance Lives Every Day. We always strive to provide friendly service to military homebuyers and their families. And we always seek to lift up people and communities across the country.

We're so glad you're here checking out this opportunity! If this role gets you excited but you're worried you don't check every box - don't sweat it. We're more interested in what you can bring to the team than a perfect checklist. If you're passionate, driven, and ready to make a difference, we'd love to hear from you. Come as you are, and together we'll create something amazing.
