Pediatric RN
  • Department: Med Surg - 4N
  • Schedule: Full Time, Night Shift, 36 Hours/Week, 7 PM - 7 AM, every third weekend
  • Sign-On Bonus: Discuss available options with your recruiter! A two-year service commitment is required for external qualified candidates.
  • Experience in pediatric hematology/oncology is advantageous!
  • Shift Differentials: Available for night and weekend shifts
  • Location: SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital

Position Summary:

This role involves delivering direct nursing care in alignment with the established policies, procedures, and protocols of our healthcare organization.

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications:

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Develops and oversees patient care plans, monitoring, documenting, and communicating patient conditions as necessary.
  • Acts as the primary coordinator among various disciplines to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Records and executes physician and nursing directives.
  • Evaluates and organizes discharge planning needs in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Maintains a constant state of alertness and operates safely.
  • Performs additional tasks as assigned.

EDUCATION

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program or equivalent education for licensing.

EXPERIENCE

  • No prior experience is necessary.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Regularly uses speech for effective oral communication.
  • Constantly stands and walks.
  • Frequently lifts, carries, and pushes/pulls items weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Regularly sits, reaches, and engages in data entry.
  • Frequently utilizes vision for near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) distances, as well as color differentiation.
  • Regularly uses smell to identify odors.
  • Frequently employs hearing to receive verbal communication and detect alarms or machinery issues.
  • Occasionally lifts and moves objects weighing between 25-50 lbs.
