Role: Senior Program Manager

Location: Hybrid in Minnetonka, MN (3 days onsite)

Rate: up to $71.68/hour W2, dependent on skills and qualifications

The Senior Program Manager is responsible for leading and managing one or more cross-departmental transformation programs that align with the organization's strategic plan, regulatory requirements, new product development, or operational initiatives. The Program Manager will provide oversight to all project managers and teams within their program(s) and will ultimately be responsible for program performance including, but not limited to: timing, budget, and the quality of the scope of work completed. The programs/projects may involve evaluating and/or implementing services, systems, or opportunities for business process improvement.

Key AccountabilitiesManage Execution (70%)
  • Partner with Business stakeholders to define and/or understand program scope, milestones, and business outcomes. Support development of business case(s,) partnering with business owners, Finance, Technology, etc.
  • Identify resource requirements for the program, aligning to budget constraints and working with program leadership to facilitate hiring; reassess on a regular cadence.
  • Participate in Program Increment (PI) Planning, System Demo, and Solution Demo, as necessary to ensure alignment across multiple ARTs and business divisions; role is to highlight and assist in resolving any gaps in alignment for deliverables.
  • Understand and report on the progress of the program MVP with key stakeholders, including steering and portfolio management.
  • Develop a critical path / business milestones and timeline in partnership with business representatives and Product Management to meet business outcomes; continuously update critical path / milestones as necessary due to business decisions.
  • Ensure coordination and synchronization of epic-related (program) activities across all entities as required (business readiness, communications, process design, technology delivery, etc.).
  • Manage executive stakeholder communications, including preparation and facilitation of Executive Steering Committees.
  • Ensure transparency and management of dependencies, issues and risks; facilitate resolution or decisions where needed.
  • Support the Product Managers, Product Owners and Business Readiness representatives in managing expectations for program deliverables.
  • Hold teams accountable for their deliverables and commitments; serve as an escalation resource and help to remove obstacles and facilitate decisions.
  • Financial Management for Programs assigned; ensure appropriate expenditures are applied to the program and work with financial representatives and / or Portfolio Management to resolve issues.
Relationship Management (30%)
  • Collaboratively and effectively work with internal and external entities including external vendors.
  • Organize, motivate, and provide leadership to cross-functional work teams from all operating areas.
  • Coach, support, and lead a team of project managers as they manage their individual projects.
  • Provide insight and leadership when project managers are presented with barriers throughout the project life cycle.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience
Minimum years’ experience required in the field to qualify for the position:
  • Bachelors degree, plus 8+ years of related experience, including 3+ years of experience managing complex cross-departmental programs and teams of project managers .
Specific types of experience or skills required:
  • Leading cross-functional strategic and/or Transformation programs
  • Managing program budgets in excess of $1M+
  • Managing project managers throughout a project life cycle
  • Managing across a team of Executive stakeholders, business owners, technology owners, change managers, operational readiness and training staff, with cross-functional teams upwards of 10 – 50+ people
  • End-to-end program management inclusive of Agile delivery methodologies
  • Strong executive communication skills and experience creating executive-level status reporting and PowerPoints
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, ambiguous environment
  • Preferred: PMP certification
  • Healthcare experience, particularly working in a payer environment
  • Maintain regularly assigned work schedule.
Worksite Arrangement:

This position is approved for Office (Minnetonka office preferred)

  • 3 days per week (Tues, Wed, Thurs)
  • There is some flexiblity during the contract period
