Job description

SPM Contract Manager II

Detroit, Michigan (Hybrid)
Pay Rate: $40.29/hour

Long-term contract opportunity with potential for extension or direct hire

Our client is seeking an experienced SPM Contract Manager II to support supplier performance management activities for medium to large-scale contracts within a fast-paced corporate environment. This hybrid position requires onsite work three days per week in Detroit, Michigan.

This role is responsible for managing contracts throughout the full lifecycle while identifying opportunities to maximize value, improve vendor performance, and ensure contractual compliance. The ideal candidate will have strong contract management experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:
โ€ข Lead development and execution of contract strategies within assigned business units
โ€ข Define and manage contract terms and conditions in alignment with company standards
โ€ข Oversee post-award contract activities including vendor performance, compliance, renewals, extensions, and close-outs
โ€ข Monitor supplier performance metrics and provide reporting on contract compliance and development activities
โ€ข Resolve contractual and business-related issues between vendors and internal stakeholders
โ€ข Support negotiations and identify value-maximizing opportunities throughout the contract lifecycle
โ€ข Collaborate with supply chain management teams on vendor selection and contract optimization
โ€ข Manage PO-specific technical and commercial work efforts in accordance with company policies
โ€ข Ensure contract visibility and communication across all relevant stakeholders
โ€ข Analyze existing processes and recommend improvements using continuous improvement principles
โ€ข Mentor and support other Contract Managers as needed

Qualifications:
โ€ข Associateโ€™s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field required
โ€ข Bachelorโ€™s degree preferred
โ€ข 5+ years of experience in contract management
โ€ข Strong project management and negotiation skills
โ€ข Ability to influence and partner with internal and external stakeholders
โ€ข Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
โ€ข Strong attention to detail and ability to work autonomously
โ€ข Experience leading projects or teams preferred
โ€ข Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SAP, Maximo, and SRM systems

Schedule:
โ€ข Hybrid schedule with onsite work required 3 days per week
โ€ข Monday through Friday
โ€ข 40 hours per week
