Description
We are looking for certified Firefighter/EMT's to join our team! This position offers a $5,000 Hiring Bonus
..... AND if you are a Firefighter/Paramedic, we will pay you a $10,000 Hiring Bonus and include an additional $12,000 in your annualized salary.
Duties and Responsiblities
As a certified Firefighter/EMT you will provide emergency response and fire suppression services, operating approved apparatus, and delivering EMS care in accordance with protocols. This position supports rescue operations, hazardous materials response, and related activities including ventilation, salvage, and overhaul. Responsible for maintaining equipment, apparatus, and facilities; you will conduct fire inspections; and participate in ongoing training and instructional programs all while fostering a positive, team-oriented work environment. Our starting salary for certified positions is $55,985.28
Requirements
  • High school diploma/GED is required
  • Valid driver's license
  • Virginia Department of Fire Programs (VDFP) certifications in:
    o Firefighter Level I and II
    o Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) Level II and III
    o Firefighter Rescue and Survival/Mayday Firefighter Down
    o Hazardous Material Operations
    o NIMS 100, 200, and 700
    o Current certification as a Virginia Office of EMS (OEMS) Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT), or Paramedic.
  • 3 years experience in a career department (preferred)

Firefighter/EMT's must maintain their OEMS certification and be cleared to practice in the department by the EMS Physician. Paramedics must also maintain certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
