FIREFIGHTER/EMT
The City of Florence, Kentucky Fire/EMS Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Firefighter/EMT. Qualified applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application and possess a valid driver's license and a high school diploma or equivalent (GED). Applicants must be a United States citizen, a lawful permanent resident, or otherwise lawfully authorized to work in the United States in accordance with federal law. Eligible Firefighter/EMT applicants must possess current KY or National Registry EMT certification and a minimum of a KY 115 hour (KY Basic I) firefighter certification, IFSAC FF 1, ProBoard FF 1, or equivalent certification from another state, and a valid CPAT card.
All applicants must complete a Personnel Evaluation Profile test, as well as further assessments consisting of oral interview, psychological assessment, and physical exam with drug/alcohol screen upon acceptance. Candidates must possess and maintain their appropriate level of certification.

Starting Salary:
  • Firefighter/EMT: $74,234 including $4,653 State Incentive Pay when eligible.

Lateral Salary Range (depending on qualifying experience):
  • Firefighter/EMT: $74,234 - $80,708 including $4,653 State Incentive Pay when eligible.
  • Excellent benefit package.

CERS Hazardous Duty Retirement
To qualify as a lateral Firefighter/EMT, you must have a minimum of two years continuous and current full-time employment with a Fire/EMS department, be a KY or Nationally registered EMT, possess IFSAC Firefighter I and II or KY 300 hr. certifications, and meet CPAT requirements.
