HEALTHCARE FACILITIES MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR (WORKING LEAD)

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

QUICK OVERVIEW

Vanguard Resources, Inc. (VRI) is hiring a fulltime hands-on Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to support a newly opened, state-of-the-art 34-bed specialty hospital in Olathe, KS. This is a working leadership role - ideal for someone who can manage a team while also stepping in directly on maintenance, repairs, and facility operations when needed.

You will oversee daily facility operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and help maintain a safe, fully operational healthcare environment.


WHAT YOU'LL DO

Lead and participate in hands-on maintenance across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, and utilities
Oversee daily operations of the Engineering/Maintenance department
Ensure hospital facilities remain safe, compliant, and fully operational
Manage preventive maintenance programs and facility inspections
Coordinate vendors, contractors, and service providers
Support regulatory compliance, documentation, and inspections
Assist with budgeting, reporting, and inventory tracking
Provide leadership in staffing, scheduling, and team development (as team grows)
Respond to facility emergencies and after-hours needs as required
Maintain strong communication across departments and leadership teams

Requirements

 WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Leadership experience in facilities, maintenance, or service operations
Healthcare or acute care facility experience preferred
Strong technical understanding of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical)
Ability to lead while remaining hands-on in daily work
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to manage vendors, timelines, and multiple priorities
Comfortable working in a regulated, compliance-driven environment
Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic facility management systems


REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or GED required
2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred
Must pass background check
Must complete required health screenings and vaccines
Valid driver's license with clean driving record
Reliable transportation
Ability to work in a healthcare environment with compliance requirements


CERTIFICATIONS (PLUS, NOT REQUIRED)

OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred
Willingness to obtain certifications if not already held


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to walk, stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work with tools/equipment
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (occasionally more depending on task)
Ability to work in mechanical rooms, utility spaces, and varying conditions
Hands-on role requiring physical activity and movement throughout the day
