Fort Meade, MD • Government/Military

Full-Time | Fully Funded | $180,000-$220,000

Helm Point Solutions is a woman-owned cybersecurity and physical security firm supporting the nation's most critical missions. We're hiring a CNO Software Engineer to join a high-impact team developing cutting-edge capabilities across Windows, Unix, and mobile platforms in direct support of national security objectives.
You'll work alongside elite engineers designing, building, and maintaining advanced Computer Network Operations (CNO) tools to meet evolving mission requirements. This is an opportunity to apply deep technical skills while solving complex problems that matter.
What You'll Do
In this role, you will:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain Windows, Unix, or mobile-based CNO tools
  • Program in Assembly, C, C++, Java, Perl, Python, and/or Objective-C
  • Develop software to evade host/network-based IDS and conduct low-level packet programming
  • Use Visual Studio, .NET, makefiles, and mission-specific build environments
  • Work with reverse engineering tools (e.g., IDA Pro, Ghidra, Binary Ninja)
  • Read and write assembly (x86, x64, ARM, MIPS, SPARC, etc.)
  • Debug with tools like gdb, WinDbg, OllyDbg
  • Write software leveraging deep knowledge of OS internals and network protocols
  • Participate in Agile development cycles using Scrum or Kanban methodologies
  • Use Git for version control and contribute to configuration management
What You Bring
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience OR 8+ years in lieu of degree
  • 6+ years programming in Assembly, C, C++, Java, Perl, and/or Python
  • 5+ years developing for Windows (.NET/Visual Studio) or Unix (makefiles/build tools)
  • 4+ years experience with CNO tools and techniques
  • 2+ years developing CNO tools for the US Government
  • 2+ years of evasion technique development for host/network-based IDS
  • 2+ years of packet-level and network socket programming
Specialized Skills:
  • Experience with Objective-C, Swift, and modern software engineering practices
  • Deep understanding of DEP, ASLR, OS internals, and exploitation mitigation techniques
  • Familiarity with project management best practices (Scrum/Kanban)
  • Comfort with Git and collaborative version control workflows
