ReefRide is a Hawaiʻi-grown car-rental marketplace. We connect travelers with locally hosted vehicles across Maui, Oʻahu, Kauaʻi, and the Big Island — so visitors skip the airport-counter line and hosts earn from cars that would otherwise sit idle.

A growing part of our model is the property host: short-term vacation rental owners who offer guests an add-on vehicle during their stay. Those vehicles may belong to the rental owner directly or to trusted local partners — cleaners, handymen, caretakers, and other service providers. The result is one booking for both the stay and the ride, more income for hosts, and a simpler trip for travelers.

We are locally operated, with transparent pricing and on-island support. We are hiring a hands-on Business Development & Operations Manager to build and run our market on the ground.

The role

You will grow and manage our local supply network: short-term vacation rental owners, Airbnb and VRBO hosts, property managers, and local vehicle partners. The goal is to get hosts to list their properties and associated vehicles on ReefRide, creating a seamless add-on for travelers who need both lodging and a car.

This is an entrepreneurial, field-oriented role. It combines business development, operations, host onboarding, customer service, local marketing, and day-to-day market oversight. You will be ReefRide's face in your market.


What you will do

  • Build relationships with vacation rental owners, Airbnb and VRBO hosts, property managers, local vehicle owners, cleaners, handymen, caretakers, and other local partners.
  • Recruit hosts to list their properties and associated vehicles on ReefRide.
  • Run local growth activities: online outreach, in-person meetings, host education, referral programs, partnership development, and community awareness.
  • Manage day-to-day operations, including host onboarding, listing support, vehicle availability, traveler questions, booking coordination, and issue resolution.
  • Support sales and marketing to grow host participation, vehicle listings, traveler bookings, and local awareness.
  • Serve as the local point person for customer service, host questions, guest-experience issues, and operational oversight.
  • Identify growth by island, neighborhood, vacation-rental concentration, vehicle type, host profile, and traveler demand.
  • Build repeatable processes for host recruitment, vehicle onboarding, traveler support, market operations, and local expansion.

Who you are

  • Bachelor's degree in business, hospitality, tourism management, operations, marketing, or a related field.
  • At least two years of management experience in short-term vacation rentals, car rentals, hospitality, tourism operations, property management, or a related local marketplace.
  • Currently living on OĘ»ahu or the Island of HawaiĘ»i (Big Island).
  • Strong understanding of the HawaiĘ»i tourism, vacation-rental, hospitality, or local-transportation ecosystem.
  • Comfortable building relationships with Airbnb and VRBO hosts, vacation rental owners, property managers, vehicle owners, and local service providers.
  • Able to combine sales, operations, marketing, and customer service in a fast-moving startup.
  • A self-starter who works independently as a 1099 contractor.
  • Strong communication, organization, follow-up, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable with online tools, marketplace platforms, CRM-style tracking, messaging, and basic operational workflows.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and ready to help build a new local marketplace from the ground up.

Compensation

This is a 1099 independent contractor role with a fixed retainer of $3,000 per month.

On top of the retainer, the role carries significant performance bonuses tied to market growth, host acquisition, vehicle listings, booking activity, operational performance, and revenue. Total annual compensation, including retainer and bonuses, is up to $200,000 depending on results.
