Job description

A leading hospital in Richmond, Virginia is seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist for a short-term locum coverage opportunity. If you're available for a weekend call assignment and comfortable performing advanced GI procedures including ERCP, this could be a great fit!


Quick Highlights

Coverage Dates: March 20 – March 23
Practice Setting: Hospital Call (Weekend Coverage)
‍⚕️ Patient Population: Adult
EMR System: Epic
Lab & Imaging: Available Onsite
Average Volume: ~8 procedures per weekend


Required Procedures

The physician should be comfortable performing a range of GI procedures including:

• Upper & Lower GI Endoscopy
• Colonoscopy & Sigmoidoscopy
• Small Bowel Biopsy
• Liver Biopsy
• Esophageal Dilatation & Manometry
• Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)
ERCP (Required – certification must be confirmed)
• PEG Placement
• Variceal Banding / Injection
• Foreign Body Removal
• Bleeder Fulguration (Cautery/Laser)


Compensation

24-Hour Call – Flat Rate
(Includes all callback hours)

✈️ Travel & Lodging Covered

• Lodging reimbursement up to $150/night
Standard / economy travel bookings


Submission Requirements

✔️ Board Certified – Required
✔️ Active Virginia License – Required
✔️ ERCP Certification – Required (No Exceptions)
✔️ Flu Shot – Required
✔️ COVID Vaccine – Highly Preferred
✔️ Clean Malpractice & Background – Required
✔️ NPDB Self-Query within 30 days of submission
✔️ Malpractice Coverage: $2.6M (VA requirement)
