Work Location: AGI Fabricators - Milwaukee

Work Type: Onsite (Potential option of hybrid 6 months pending experience/efficiency/consistency)

Division: Mechanical (Full Time, Exempt)

Under the direction of the BIM Superintendent, the VDC Designer is responsible for coordinating, designing, and formatting 3D building information model (BIM) drawings.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma/GED or Member in good standing of applicable local bargaining unit
  • Years of Relevant Work Experience: 3 to 5 years of CAD/Revit experience
  • Certificates/Licenses: Driver's License
  • Physical Job Requirements: Move throughout office, construction site, and general outdoor environments

Key Activities

  • Understand Projects. Review project specifications, proposal, addendums, engineering drawings, and all other information pertinent to project.
  • Generate 3D Models and Fabrication Drawings. Generate constructable 3D models and review assembly & spool drawings for fabrication in conjunction with project & shop foremen.
  • Project Documentation. Provide other project information/documentation as requested. Provide information necessary for plan review/permit. Manage plan review process. Provide "cut sheets" and shop fabrication drawings as requested. Archive drawings (approved plans, pertinent architectural plans, civil plans, etc.) in electronic format.
  • Perform clash detection and be able to communicate and work through changes to be made with other trades.
  • Maintain/update CAD and VDC systems to ensure maximum efficiency/accuracy is achieved.
