Job description

Emerald City Associates is a fast-growing private equity firm specializing in real estate investment, development, and property management (Green Alpha Property Management) across the U.S. With a start-up culture and big ambitions, we’re scaling rapidly and need analytical minds to keep our financial engine running smoothly.
We’re seeking a reliable and organized Accounting Specialist to support our day-to-day accounting operations. This role is responsible for processing invoices, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring vendors are paid accurately and on time. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
 
What You’ll Do:

  • Process vendor invoices, reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Process corporate and utility billing
  • Prepare and submitt bank draw requests
  • Prepare and process weekly check runs and electronic payments
  • Respond to vendor inquiries
  • Assist with expense coding and ensure invoices are assigned to the appropriate general ledger accounts
  • Support month-end closing by preparing reports and reconciliations
  • Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation
  • Assist with other accounting and administrative duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Previous accounts payable or general accounting experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Experience with accounting software; Oracle experience is a plus but not required
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset when working with vendors and internal teams
  • Experience in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment is a plus
