Job description

Job Description:
This position provides postal services to the whole Goucher community, staff, faculty, alumni and students. This role is responsible for selling postal products or services such as stamps or packing supplies. They deliver letters and parcels to the whole campus. They advise customers regarding USPS and campus post office policies and regulations, including shipping and tracking options. They give instructions to students and employees as needed.
Essential Job Functions:
30 % A. Performance of clerical duties related to processing incoming and outgoing materials such as packages, letters or any correspondence with attention to detail.
25 % B. Adhere to all USPS regulations and standards in proper mail and money handling, preparations and contract stations business operations.
20 % C. Receive/scan/shelve all incoming packages for student, faculty and staff delivery.
5 % D. Sorting incoming mail for distribution to campus departments, divisions and mailboxes.
5 % E. Using large postage meters to characterize, sort and stamp outgoing mail and packages.
5 % F. Deliver and pick up mail and packages from departments, divisions and mailboxes by way of driving mail cart.
5 % G. Training student employees on mail delivery to departments, divisions and mailboxes.
Education:
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Professional Experience:
Required: One year of experience in customer service. A valid driver's license is required with an Individual Driver Record Request through the DMV.
Starting rate for this position is $17.78 per hour
