Love's College Intern Program

The Love’s college internship program is frequently referred to as the best in Oklahoma City. This rapidly growing program provides opportunities for students in multiple areas of the business to receive employee level experience, not just busy work. Students also gain valuable knowledge that they can’t get in a classroom; they are guided through proper etiquette of a professional corporate setting. BASIC PURPOSE: The Experience Design team at Love’s is looking for a student interested in User Experience (UX) Research for a summer internship. You will work with the team on research initiatives for an in-house mobile app and on various other projects and platforms. You will be exposed to all stages of the research process, from study design to presenting results, and with various research methods. This is a hybrid position. You will need to be able to be on-site in Oklahoma City during the internship to be eligible for this internship.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Learn the technologies, strategies and research techniques we use here at Love’s
  • Assist with research including usability testing, interviews and eye tracking
  • Develop research plans, guides and set up for studies
  • Analyze and interpret data, report the results and present to stakeholders
  • Other duties assigned as needed

GAIN EXPERIENCE WITH:

  • Qualitative and quantitative research methodologies
  • Data analysis and synthesis as well as presenting findings
  • Agile methodology and cross-functional team collaboration
  • Interacting and coordinating with participants, customers and stakeholders
  • Designing solutions to improve User Experience
  • Quality Assurance (QA) and documentation

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education:
    • HS Diploma or equivalent required
    • Currently enrolled in four-year university program, a sophomore level or above (pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as Psychology, HCI, Design, Cognitive Science or Computer Science).
  • Experience:
    • Past Internship experience a plus but not necessary
    • A portfolio of past work (research or design) is a plus

SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Hard Skills:
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Knowledge of research methods and principles is a big plus
  • Soft Skills:
    • Good organizational skills, including prioritization and time management
    • Team player with the ability to work with others in a high-energy, fact paced environment
    • Analytical and creative thinking; written and verbal communications skills
    • Interest in gaining experience with UX Research and UX processes  
  • Typical Physical Demands:
    • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
    • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
    • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
    • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
