Job description

Classification Specialist
LOCATION: Washington, DC
POSITION TYPE: Onsite

Summary:

The Classification Specialist supports classification and job analysis operations in Washington, DC. This position is responsible for performing specialized classification functions, ensuring jobs are accurately classified according to federal standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 10 years of experience working as a Classification Specialist. DHS experience is preferred.

Requirements:
  • 5 to 10 years of experience working as a Classification Specialist.

  • Expertise in job classification, job analysis, and position description writing.

  • Familiarity with federal classification standards and regulations.

  • Ability to conduct job evaluations and make appropriate recommendations.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • DHS experience is a plus.

  • Experience with federal government classification systems and procedures.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Base Salary Range: $50,000 – $100,000 / year. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and structural alignment. Individual pay is influenced by several factors, including the candidate's work location, relevant experience, skillset, and contract constraints.
