Contract Length: 12+ Months Job ref# 247271 Position Summary Will support the engineering, design, implementation, testing, and documentation of AC & DC power solutions supporting enterprise telecommunications infrastructure. This role is responsible for designing reliable telecom power systems including DC battery plants, UPS systems, battery monitoring, grounding systems, and environmental monitoring solutions

The engineer will work independently while partnering with engineering, operations, installation, and maintenance teams to deliver scalable and reliable telecommunications infrastructure. The ideal candidate possesses strong telecom power engineering experience, excellent documentation skills, and the ability to deliver engineering solutions with minimal supervision. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related discipline with 6+ years of direct telecom power engineering experience OR Associate's degree with 10+ years of direct telecom power engineering experience OR High School Diploma with 15+ years of direct telecom power engineering experience Experience engineering and delivering AC & DC power solutions for telecommunications infrastructure Strong experience with 48V DC power systems Strong experience with 240/120V AC power systems Experience designing and supporting DC Battery Plant systems Experience with UPS systems Experience with battery monitoring solutions Experience with backup generator systems Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC) Knowledge of grounding standards for telecommunications shelters and towers Ability to prepare engineering job packages including: Equipment lists Installation instructions Network diagrams Drawings Shelf layouts Experience preparing cost estimates, work orders, and engineering documentation Strong troubleshooting and technical support experience Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to lead or contribute within small engineering teams Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, Teams) Preferred Qualifications Utility industry experience Telecom engineering or Telecom Field Services experience (2+ years) Hands-on experience with telecom UPS/DC Plant equipment including: Eltek Vertiv Powerware Delta Experience with: Cisco routers & switches Opengear NetGuardian Cambium Nokia microwave Alcatel-Lucent Ciena optical transport ServiceNow experience Agile, Kanban, and Jira experience Corporate documentation systems (Fusion or CASTPro) Understanding of engineering design principles Project planning and project management fundamentals Engineering Fundamentals (FE) Exam North Carolina Professional Engineer (PE) registration Experience delivering technical training on telecom DC systems Key Responsibilities Design AC & DC power solutions supporting enterprise telecommunications infrastructure.

Plan, engineer, implement, test, and document telecom power systems. Prepare Engineering Job Packages (EJPs). Produce equipment lists, engineering drawings, installation documentation, and network diagrams.

Design reliable, cost-effective power solutions that meet business requirements. Prepare cost estimates, economic studies, and work orders. Coordinate engineering activities with installation, maintenance, and operations teams.

Develop processes that improve Tier 1 and Tier 2 operational support. Provide Tier 3 engineering support for complex telecom power issues. Ensure engineering documentation remains accurate and current.

Maintain awareness of evolving telecommunications technologies and engineering standards.
