Job Summary
General Atomics Systems Integration, LLC (GA-SI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a provider of military and commercial engineering services. GA-SI is a leading-edge expert in systems integration technologies, reliability improvements, and controls system design.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a MQ-9A support engineer at MCAS Cherry Point in North Carolina.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for providing on-site expertise in identifying issues, troubleshooting steps, and resolving questions beyond standard maintenance procedures and documentation available to the Fleet.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the GA-ASI MQ-9A Engineering team in Poway, CA and with NAVAIR/USMC MQ-9A personnel at MCAS.
  • Interact on technical matters with MQ-9A fleet personnel, NAVAIR engineers, and the GA-ASI Engineering disciplines in Poway CA on a daily basis. Technical matters include but are not limited to: MQ-9 airframe, propulsion, electrical system, software, data links, and ground control segment.
  • May assume technical and engineering responsibility of the success of an identifiable project.
  • Directs activities of design or technical staff and may lead a team of moderately experienced professional staff.
  • Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices

May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
  • A strong understanding of engineering concepts, principles, codes, and theory is required, along with experience applying these concepts broadly and a growing knowledge of related technical fields.
  • Must have excellent communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills; must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team; must be a self-starter and proactively identify and help coordinate resolution of technical issues.
  • Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows: nine or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, seven or more years of experience with a masters degree, or four or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
  • Must have MQ-9A system and subsystem experience.
  • Must be able to work extended hours as required.
  • Must be able to travel as required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Security Clearance is required.
